Dictionary of the Essene Teaching
Here is the Dictionary of the Essene Teaching. You can use it occasionally, to better understand a given term used in the books, notebooks and booklets, or else read it from A to Z, to perfect your knowledge.
This work was compiled over time by the hierogrammates. As the Teaching is living and evolving, new terms appear, which must be added to it, and some definitions must sometimes be modified, clarified. For this reason, this document will be updated regularly.
Enjoy your reading!
The Order of Hierogrammates
4 bodies of humanity
The body of humanity is divided into 4 main categories, in connection with the 4 main parts of the human body, which form 4 groups of cells, each having a very particular function:
- The first sphere is that of the Essenes, that is, the priests and priestesses, the servants of God, all those who work to keep the Religion pure and living, as the bond that unites men with God. In the human body, they correspond to the cells located at the top of the head, guardians of the divine, original memory of man. This is why the divine world considers these beings as the representatives of the world of men, and according to their state, it can judge the general state of humanity.
- The second sphere is that of the thinkers, the philosophers, the learned, the scientists, the teachers, who are in the body of humanity what the cells of the intellect are in the human body.
- The third sphere, that of justice, corresponds to the cells of the heart, in charge of regulating exchanges, the harmony and balance of the whole. In it are found the beings who work in the fields of justice, health and social services to come to the aid of their fellow men.
- The fourth sphere is that of the economy, made up of all the craftsmen, the merchants, the builders, the entrepreneurs, all those who are linked to the sphere of the will in man, that is, the cells of the belly, of digestion, but also of the construction and maintenance of the body.
None of these spheres is superior to another; they were created to work in unison, for the harmony of the whole. What men call “evil” always comes from a division between these spheres, for evil in itself does not exist; it is only a potential.
4 bodies of man
Subtle bodies of earth, water, air and fire, inherent in every creature. Because of the current way of life of men, a particular work is necessary to give them life again. This work is the subject of an Essene initiation that takes place over several weeks. The initiation of the 4 bodies consists in purifying one’s 4 bodies of earth, water, air and fire in the forest, with the help of the spirits of nature.
The reactivation of the earth body makes it possible to lastingly develop inner stability, the power of concrete realization and concentration towards our goals.
The reactivation of the water body makes it possible to live a great purification and a deep cleansing of all the memory-laden waters that make up our subtle bodies.
The reactivation of the air body makes it possible to live a liberation of thoughts, to welcome new inspiration, the rejuvenating breath of life, and to reactivate the divine memory.
The reactivation of the fire body makes it possible to re-establish a powerful contact with the divine within oneself, to develop discernment and to learn to separate the eternal from the mortal.
On the subject of the 4 bodies, refer to the book by Olivier Manitara The 4 Elements.
4 Fathers
The 4 Fathers are the founders of the Essene tradition. They are the 4 Archangels of the Light known by the names of Michael, Raphael, Gabriel and Uriel. They are great beings who were missioned by the Father to speak to Enoch so that the great tradition that was to open the path of the reintegration of humanity into the divine world would be born on earth. Enoch was the first man, after the fall, to reconquer immortality and to teach it. From him were born all the civilizations and religions founded on divine knowledge.
4-letter Name of God
The Hebrew 4-letter Name of God breaks down according to 4 degrees of vibration, from the most subtle to the densest:
- the first letter, the YOD, corresponds to the element fire in the universe and to thought in man; its divine quintessence is kept in the higher worlds by Archangel Michael;
- the second letter, the HE, corresponds to the element air and to the sphere of feelings and senses; its divine quintessence is kept in the higher worlds by Archangel Raphael;
- the third letter, the VAV, corresponds to the element water and to the sphere of the will; its divine quintessence is kept in the higher worlds by Archangel Gabriel;
- the fourth letter, the second HE, corresponds to the element earth and to the sphere of the act; its divine quintessence is kept in the higher worlds by Archangel Uriel.
The entire world of man is made up of these 4 elements, not only in the visible world, but also in its invisible counterpart.
It can also be said that the YOD is the Father, the first HE is the Mother, the VAV is the Son and the second HE is the Daughter.
5 foolish virgins and 5 wise virgins (Mt. 25:1-13)
During a lecture, Olivier Manitara revealed the origin of this parable and the thoughts that animated Master Jesus when he spoke it. It was in fact a true story that took place in a very distant past, in ancient Egypt. These ten virgins were priestesses, initiated into the mysteries of Isis and attached to the service of Pharaoh, who was at that time still the Word, the incarnated word of God. This circle of women was consecrated to the fire worship, in a temple that only Pharaoh and they could enter. Among them, five were pure and totally impersonal, whereas the others nourished thoughts oriented towards the safeguarding of the body and of the high social rank they enjoyed because of their religious status. Thus, they used the power and the aura of Light of Pharaoh for their own glory, whereas the others were in the total offering of their soul and their inner life to nourish God, Osiris, through Pharaoh. This is why the parable of Jesus tells us that these 5 wise virgins were able to enter immortality, whereas the other five no longer had any oil to feed the divine flame since they had given everything to the body and to the mortal personality that inhabits it.
5 senses
The senses of touch, taste, smell, hearing and sight exist in the physical world, but also in the invisible worlds. Men, because of their unnatural way of life, have atrophied these subtle senses. A particular work is necessary to purify them. This work is the subject of an Essene initiation, which takes place over several weeks in an Essene Village. Through this initiation, the Essene learns to purify his senses through intense work and magical methods that enable him to progressively awaken the light of his soul and of the divine world in each of the 5 senses. He then recovers his creative power and becomes a mage of Light and the conscious and active craftsman of a new vision and a new life on earth.
On the subject of the 5 senses, refer to the books The Sense of Touch, The Sense of Taste, The Sense of Smell, The Sense of Hearing and The Sense of Sight.
6 moons
The initiation of the 6 moons is a six-month retreat in an Essene Village. It is the great Essene initiation for incarnating the Essene way of life right into one’s daily life. For six months, the initiate must strengthen his 4 bodies and his 5 senses, fortify his thought through the study of the Essene Gospels, be in devotion for the wisdom of the Tradition and perform with great discipline the sacred rites of the 6 moons. Thus, at the end of the 6 moons, he has all the conditions to accomplish works in conformity with his soul. If his destiny allows it, he has the possibility of living permanently with an Angel.
On this subject, refer to the book by Olivier Manitara The Magic of the Sons of Enoch.
7 bodies of man
Man possesses 7 centres of consciousness, which are present inside him as 7 increasingly subtle bodies.
The Rose Cross, who knew and mastered this science to perfection, called these centres and subtle bodies of man “roses” and taught how to awaken them through 7 degrees of learning and initiation until reaching the Angel.
The first degree, that of the etheric body (the rose of the Moon), was called the “rose of the temple”, for man had to enter the temple of the Mother and be set upon a sacred, pure wisdom and tradition.
The second degree, that of the body of feelings and senses (the rose of Venus), was called the “holy liqueur”, for man had to awaken his inner life and enter an inner happiness free from all outer conditioning.
The third degree, that of the body of thought (the rose of Mercury), was called the “golden dawn”, for in man the sun of a new thought had to awaken, capable of perceiving the worlds and influences hidden behind the veil of the visible world.
The fourth degree, that of the body of consciousness (the rose of the Sun), was called the “rose of the heart”, for man had to awaken his individuality (the sun of his veritable self) within the community, in mutual support, through the offering of a work of Light for the Common Good.
The fifth degree, that of the body of destiny (the rose of Mars), was called the “creative word”. Having reached this degree of awakening, man became a mage, that is, an awakened being capable, through his life consecrated to God, of acting in the universal, beyond his personal sphere, working in hiddenness to fecundate the future of the earth and of all humanity.
The sixth degree, that of the body of the soul (the rose of Jupiter), was called the “eye of God”, for having reached this stage of Initiation, man was no longer to live in his body and for his mortal life, but to awaken the higher and universal vision of the soul, which opened to him the gates of immortality.
The seventh degree, that of the body of the spirit (the rose of Saturn), was called the “wedding of fire and Light”; it was the crowning of Initiation and man could at last celebrate the wedding of his soul with the divine bridegroom, the Angel, the messenger of the Father.

7 stages of life in the Round of Archangels / in the Essene Nation
The 7 stages of life in the Essene Nation are linked to the 7 stages of life that follow birth through the good turnaround of the heart:
- carrying the Angel of the Round of Archangels (7 years);
- the massalas and the houses of God (14 years);
- the Study (21 years);
- the initiations (28 years);
- the Light worship (35 years);
- the Essene Villages (42 years);
- the garden of the Light (49 years and over).
Through these 7 stages, which form the structure of the Essene Nation, the body of God on earth, the path of immortality is open to all beings who want to commit themselves to it.
For teachings on the 7 stages of life, refer to the book by Olivier Manitara The 7 Stages of Life.
For teachings on the 7 steps, refer to the book by Olivier Manitara 50 Keys to Living with the Angels.
7 stages of the life of man
Human life has 7 stages, which correspond to the 7 days of Creation. Each stage lasts seven years. The first day is linked to the period from 0 to 7 years of age. Then manifests the will necessary to learn to breathe, to eat, to walk, to speak, to lay the foundations of life. The second day of Creation in the life of man corresponds to the period from 7 to 14 years of age. It is the sphere of feelings that develops. The body, which is linked to life, becomes inhabited by the me, linked to death. This me is destined to moult in order to grow towards the third day, the stage from 14 to 21 years of age. It is through luminous thought that man triumphs over death. It allows him to enter consciously into the mental world, into what is beyond. Then man lives the fourth day, from 21 to 28 years of age. Consciousness becomes the foundation of his life. Thought is led all the way to the concrete knowledge of the subtle worlds. Man individualizes himself and can pass on to the fifth day, from 28 to 35 years of age. He must then live with his Angel and accomplish its will right into the reality of his daily life. This purity is rare, and from it truth appears. On the sixth day, man, aged 35 to 42, is invited to enter the world of the soul. He develops the vision of the soul in order to live with the celestial order, which makes it possible to come out of slavery and disorder. It is a world of immutable higher laws. On the seventh day, man, aged 42 to 49, enters the perfection of the work and of the body of immortality. It is the divine stage that belongs to the sacred mysteries of fusion with a higher world.
On this subject, refer to the book by Olivier Manitara The 7 Stages of Life.
7 steps of awakening
These 7 steps correspond to the successive awakening of the 7 subtle bodies of man, which are hidden inside his body like the seed of the subtle flowers of the soul, which are, from the densest to the most subtle: the will; the senses, the feelings; thought; consciousness; destiny; the immortal soul; the spirit, the seed of the veritable self of man.
When it is said in the sacred texts that Enoch erected 7 stones, it is a symbolic allusion to the 7 bodies of man that he awakened through Initiation, thus opening this path for all the seekers of the Light after him.
7 steps of Initiation
See “Essene initiation / Initiation”.
8 rules of Uriel
The 8 rules of Uriel—presented in psalm 136 of the Archangel (volume 24 of the Essene Gospels, Androgyny)—correspond to the esotericism of the teaching of the Buddha on the eightfold path. They were given by Archangel Uriel as an answer to the new teachings and light that Olivier Manitara brought on this subject during the celebration of the Archangel in 2011. They are also linked to the notion of androgyny, developed notably by the alchemists of the Middle Ages and by the brotherhood of the Rose Cross.
22 commandments of Gabriel
The 22 commandments of Gabriel are rules of life that make it possible to come closer to the divine world.
On this subject, refer to psalm 114 of Gabriel, as well as the books by Olivier Manitara The 22 Arcana and The 22 Energy Movements.
Abraham (circa 1800 BC)
A native of the ancient kingdom of Chaldea, in the same lands where Zoroaster lived, Abraham had the mission of keeping the Essene tradition alive and of still making possible the incarnation of great masters in a world increasingly hostile to their manifestation. In the image of Rama (Abraham or “Ab Rama” means the heir of Rama, the one who comes after Rama), he gathered all the Children of the Light under the banner of a single people, a people within all peoples. He called it Israel, which means “Son of the Sun”, in homage to his glorious ancestors, the pharaohs Sons of the Sun.
Adam
Genesis, attributed to Moses, but actually dating from before the Egypt of the pharaohs, coming from a civilization that is today totally annihilated, is one of the founding texts of the Essene kabbalistic tradition. The Hebrew alphabet, the literary foundation of this tradition, is based on the sacred science of numbers. Thus, kabbalistically, the name Adam is equivalent to the number 9 and represents humanity as a whole and absolutely not an isolated human being. The latter is an erroneous interpretation, at the origin of many misunderstandings.
Affinities, writings, alliances (worlds of)
When we are born on earth, these 3 worlds exist within us and around us: the world of affinities and spirits, that of writings and genies, that of alliances and egregores.
On the path of the Essene initiation, you must first awaken within you the sphere of the Moon, the world of affinities, which exists in the visible world and in the invisible world. In this world, like attracts like. When man dies, he goes into this world where there is everything he wants, since man is a creator. If he thinks of peace, he will taste peace there. And if this peace is illusory, he will taste a great illusion.
You must also awaken in the sphere of Venus, the world of symbols and writings. For this, you must look at what you set down as writings, for example, the 4 divine seals, the 4 bodies, the Name of the Mother, what you encounter and what you do in your life... These are writings that you set down and that the beings of the invisible worlds can read. To rise all the way into the world of writings after death, one must have been a conscious and active creator on earth, must have made ideas, intelligences, spiritual forces concrete through a work, a symbol.
You must then awaken in the sphere of Mercury, the world of alliances, of what directs you, what makes you move, what animates your senses and your intelligence. Only an initiate who has concluded alliances with Angels, Archangels and Divinities during his life on earth can enter the world of alliances after his death.
Akasha / akashic memory
“Akasha”, or “akashic memory”, is the name given by the Hindus to what the Greeks called the “ether” or the “fifth element”, that is, the spiritual element of life, in which everything that man thinks, says and accomplishes is permanently recorded. It is this element that makes everything, absolutely everything, laden with memory, and that enables a clairvoyant, for example, by concentrating on a place, to perceive everything that happened there, in a recent past, but also all the way back to a very distant past. In nature, we find this process of memory in the trunk of a tree, for example, through all the rings inside the trunk, which make it possible to estimate its age.
Akhenaten (circa 1400 BC)
Akhenaten restored the ancient Essene vision of a single God hidden behind all the Divinities, all the facets of life. This pharaoh banished the worship of idols performed solely for the well-being of man, to the detriment of all the other kingdoms of existence. He was assassinated at the instigation of his wife Nefertiti, who took part in plunging humanity into an even deeper fall by definitively removing the lineage of the pharaohs Sons of the Sun from the government of nations. It was the beginning of a dark era and the birth of a sick humanity whose sickness has not ceased to worsen until today.
Alchemist
There are two kinds of alchemists: the veritable alchemists (the initiates) and the puffers, individuals who use alchemy to try to make gold or to obtain the immortality of the physical body.
All-possible
If an individual thinks that the world was created by “chance” and that man is the only form of intelligence in existence, he will live in the lie of “nothing”; after his death, he will encounter the voidness of his existence, and the divine world will remain closed and unknown to him. On the other hand, if an individual cultivates the vision that the visible world is only a veil behind which a higher intelligence is hidden, he will encounter greatness, in this life as in the other. The horizon of such a man will therefore not be “nothing”, but the “all-possible”, in the sense that his evolution will be without limits, whereas that of a man who is steeped in concepts will be limited by these same concepts.
AMIN, amin
The 4 elements—earth, water, air and fire—form one of the Names given to the Mother: AMIN. They are the 4 faces of life. AMIN is the 4-letter Name that constitutes the entirety of the created world. The Hindus call it AUM and the ancient Egyptians called it AMON. It is also the amen of the Hebrews and the Christians. Essene prayers are often concluded by the word “Amin”, which means “so be it”, “let it be”, that is, everything becomes true. It is the Mother: all the seeds that man puts in Her become true, for he is the creator of his own destiny.
Ancient of Days
Also known in the esoteric tradition of peoples as the great Melchizedek, Manu or else Sanat Kumara, the Ancient of Days is the supreme being, the face of God in all the faces of the men and women who have manifested the divine in the reality of their life and their acts. He is thus the guardian of the wisdom of the ages, the living memory of all the divine experiences in all beings. Many authentic masters and sages have described in one way or another the face of this supreme being as being God Himself, or at least the purest and most sublime manifestation of his immutable wisdom.
Angel
For the Essenes, the Angels are a higher reality that guides man in his life and acts upon him in the same way as the earth that nourishes him, water, air, fire and light. The Essene tradition received, through its founding father Enoch, the knowledge of the Angels, who are the virtues, such as friendship, harmony, gentleness, peace, love, respect. The virtues are living and intelligent beings who want to lead man towards union with the Father and the Mother. Within the framework of the Round of Archangels, the being who wants to journey towards the Light has the possibility of becoming an Angel carrier, that is, of taking care of an Angel on earth. The human concept of this practice would have man be limited to this virtue, but the angelic vision reveals that behind the virtue of an Angel stand all the virtues and all the Angels, for in the divine world, everything is one.
The Essene who wants to climb the steps of Initiation can choose to do the initiation of the 6 moons, which enables him to seal an alliance with his Angel, who is not the virtue Angel of the Round of Archangels, but the Angel who is the guardian of his soul from life to life, his “soul mate”, his “twin of Light”.
Angel carrier
The priests and priestesses of the Round of Archangels first carry the Angel of the Round of Archangels. If they individualize themselves through the Essene initiations, they can choose to carry a virtue Angel, such as devotion, perfection, subtlety.
Angelic bracelet
The angelic bracelet links the person—Essene or non-Essene—who wears it with the energy of the Round of Archangels. Its link with a sacred, living and active tradition makes it a powerful instrument of magic and of great protection.
Ankh
The Egyptian symbol of the cross of life, the handled cross, is known by the name of “Ankh”, which is none other than the written form of the Egyptian pronunciation of the name of Enoch, which means “life”.
Apprentice, companion and master
The terms “apprentice”, “companion” and “master” are part of the language of the builders in Freemasonry. Man must begin by being an apprentice who will study the laws and seek to understand the object of his study, for example Essene wisdom. Then he will be a companion when he in turn enters the construction site by setting to work and taking part in the work of Essene wisdom with a master, that is, quite simply, a being who knows and masters what he does. If he perseveres on this way of companionship, he will naturally end up becoming a master builder on the way that will be his own, in conformity with the Name of the Mother.
Arcanum / magical posture / magical movement / sacred movement
The term “arcanum” is related to “arcane”, which means “secret”. It is to the Egyptians that we owe this sacred and secret science of the arcana, of the magical, sacred postures and movements. Through certain postures of the body, the Egyptians had become masters in the art of physically incarnating collective higher intelligences, such as those of the falcon, the tree, the scarab. But they did not merely imitate animals or other beings; through these sacred postures, they accomplished a powerful magic through which they linked themselves with higher principles, Divinities, and entered into conscious communication with them. This sacred science is living again today through ieupaneurythmy, the Essene art of movement.
On the subject of the 22 arcana of Archangel Gabriel, refer to the book by Olivier Manitara The 22 Arcana.
On the subject of the 22 energy movements, refer to the book by Olivier Manitara The 22 Energy Movements.
Archangel
The Archangels are the Fathers of the 4 elements that constitute the entire universe, their divine intelligence, their quintessence. Thus, they alone maintain the cohesion of the cosmos and the great cycles of life that manifest on earth through the 4 seasons and the 4 elements. Archangel Michael is the Father of fire and the face of God through autumn; Archangel Raphael is the Father of air and the face of God through spring; Archangel Gabriel is the Father of water and the face of God through winter; Archangel Uriel is the Father of earth and the face of God through summer. The Archangels manifest in the kingdom of men as a divine higher intelligence, immutable laws, an eternal wisdom.
According to the tree of life of the esoteric tradition of the Kabbalah, there are 6 other great Archangels who work in the universe in very precise functions.
Astrality
The ancient alchemists spoke of the “astrality of the stars”, that is, of the subtle, invisible influences emitted by the stars, which man undergoes in different ways, according to the birth chart that imprinted itself in him at the moment of his birth. Thus, man is linked to the stars; either he is passive and undergoes their influences, or he becomes active, conscious, the creator of his future by taking hold of this serpent of the astrality of the stars to put it in the service of a work of Light. Such is the difference between an ordinary man, whose consciousness is more or less asleep, and an awakened one, an initiate, a mage, a priest of God, an Essene.
Atlantis, initiates of Atlantis (circa 23,000-10,000 BC)
Atlantis is a continent that has disappeared today. As its name indicates, it occupied the space covered today by the Atlantic Ocean and a little further still. In those distant times, humanity did not at all have the same consciousness as in our time. Men did not live in their physical body and were not even aware of it. In addition, the human body did not at all have the shape we know it to have now. The shape of bodies was very malleable, like a kind of clay, and varied according to the level of moral and spiritual consciousness of each individual, although man did not really have an individual consciousness but rather lived in a state of expanded consciousness.
Men lived in a dream consciousness; there was neither day nor night, nor even life or death. When man died, he did not really notice it, since he lived permanently in what is called the “beyond”. Man was a creator through the spirit and did not really know matter; it did not exist for him, since he lived in a subtle world without delimited borders.
The Amerindians and many first peoples have kept the memory of this ancient era, which they call the era of the “bird-men”. They put feathers on their heads in commemoration of this distant past and to always remember their divine origin. It was a living outer symbol that spoke to them of the inner life, that reminded them that they were not only physical bodies, but also living souls, free to travel in several worlds.
The ancient Egyptians cultivated the memory of this distant era, which they called the era of the “sons of Horus”. Horus was the bird of the Sun, the original cosmic man, Christ, the one who leads the initiates into the kingdoms of the immortal spirit. In Atlantis, only these sons of Horus, these initiates, knew evil and could study it without being caught by it. Many legends evoke this secret science that enabled the initiates to contain the demons and keep them prisoner, preventing them from breaking loose to invade humanity. These demons were not negative in themselves; they were simply the forces of decomposition whose task is to recycle matter and everything that is perishable. However, they could become negative if man betrayed the divine laws in order to enslave beings. This is how, among the Atlantean initiates, traitors rose up, ill-intentioned beings who wanted to use the destructive power of the demons as well as the sacred science of the sons of Enoch for personal purposes of power, of domination of the world and of all creatures.
The majority of men were seduced by the attractions of the physical world dangled before them by those who had decided to enslave humanity for their own glory. Then humanity fell again, as in Lemuria—the civilization that preceded that of Atlantis and in which Enoch manifested himself. Its consciousness became the prisoner of the physical body and its senses, limited to the sole perception of the material world. This was the beginning of a long degeneration of human consciousness, behind the deceitful appearances of a dazzling technological and scientific evolution. Thus, history repeats itself at each new cycle of evolution of humanity, which today finds itself in exactly the same situation as its Atlantean ancestors before the destruction of their civilization.
Aura
See “World of water”.
Awakened men
The expression “awakened men” designates the spiritualists, all those who believe in the existence of invisible and higher worlds, but who do not necessarily know the laws of these worlds or their interactions and correspondences with the laws of matter.
Ba bird / Bennu bird
“Ba” is the syllabic and oral translation of the Egyptian hieroglyph that represents the bird. It also represents the soul in the ancient word “Ka-Ba-La”. Sometimes called the Bennu bird, it corresponds in the Essene-Aramaic tradition to Archangel Raphael and to the mysteries of the resurrection of the soul, which Jesus called the “second birth”.
Balm of the Archangels
Handcrafted by Essenes, in the pure and sacred atmosphere of their villages, the balm of the Archangels is made from the 4 physical supports that the Archangels use to touch us and to harmonize our mortal part with our immortal nature (the ash of the fire of Michael, the water of Gabriel, the oliban incense of Raphael, the oil of Uriel). This balm is sacred for the Essenes, for it contains the divine essence of the 4 elements. It is used for its therapeutic virtues in Essene care and also during magical works. The Essenes use it notably to consecrate their bodies in the temples and thus increase the radiance and intensity of their blessings of Light in all the directions of the world. It is also offered to all as a shared blessing. Placed on the forehead, in the hollow of the hands and feet or on the nape of the neck, the balm of the Archangels makes it possible to increase the forces of concentration and awakening and to be preserved from obsessive and futile thoughts that could disturb and divert the energy of the work. However, all these virtues in no way remove the necessity of being awake in the two worlds. An Essene never relies on anything outer. He can, however, use supports such as the balm of the Archangels or the oil of Uriel to activate certain forces inside him.
Barque of the Round of Archangels and its 6 floats / barque of Light
The Round of Archangels is a barque; it is Manisola, the boat of Light of the Cathars. This barque has 6 floats, which are the 6 directions around man, for the barque is man, who is the seventh direction, the inner mystery. Man sails and carries within him his whole family, that is, all those who have lit the Light within them. Man carries within him the 4 Archangels, the 4 elements, the 4 forces that structure him, and he has the Mother under his feet and the Father above his head. These 6 floats therefore represent the 4 Archangels, the Father and the Mother.
Each float contains a word of wisdom. The float of the Mother says: “Clairvoyance that delivers man from what is dark”; the float of Michael says: “Ether filled with divinity”; the float of Raphael: “Pure, living, intelligent, non-mechanical breathing”; the float of Gabriel: “Lightness of the joints”; the float of Uriel: “Prayer for the fluidity of beings and worlds”; and the float of the Father: “Life united with the 7 colours of the Mother and with the 7 spirits of life in the 7 bodies of the Father in man”.
Beast skin / skin of dumbness
THE DARKNESS WITH WHICH MAN CLOTHED HIMSELF WHEN HE SEPARATED HIMSELF FROM THE DIVINE.
Beast, dumbness, seal of the Beast
Through the ages, the term “the Beast” has been used by the Essenes, notably in the Revelation of Saint John, to designate the force that separates men from the Light.
Olivier Manitara often uses the word bêtise (dumbness, stupidity), which in French derives from bête(beast), to name the presence of the Beast in the life of man.
The seal of the Beast is an etheric imprint present in the aura of those who are linked with the Beast.
Birth to the Light / second birth / new birth / birth of water and fire
Jesus spoke these words: “In all truth I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born through water and the Spirit.” (Jn. 3:5) When man is born, he is born as a dead letter, and he must revivify this dead letter through the spirit to make the spirit be born in him. This is the second birth of which Christ speaks. To experience this birth to the Light, one must first be born to the Mother. For this, one must have worked on one’s 4 bodies, which are the 4 elements within oneself. When the 4 bodies are reconstituted in man, the Mother reveals to him the name of his soul, the Name of the Mother. Only then does he begin to exist, that is, the Mother really sees him. This new birth is the way of immortality.
Blue veil of Gabriel / blue sky of Gabriel / blue ether / blue mantle
Archangel Gabriel protects the earth by surrounding it with his veil of protection, in the form of the turtle. The turtle is the blue of the sky, the presence of the Archangel, which is also called the “blue ether” or the “blue mantle”. It is for this reason that Essene representations of Gabriel seated on a turtle are seen. To approach this ether, to wear this blue veil, as the Virgin Mary wore it, one must go beyond the borders of the world of man and rise towards the divine. This is possible by doing a work on oneself with the 12 virtues, the 12 Angels of the Circle of 12, which form a sky above the Essenes, the blue sky of Gabriel. The one who succeeds in being covered by the presence and the influence of the blue sky of Gabriel has his life consecrated. He enters a world where everything settles in calm and harmony. It is a new earth, a new Mother who is in alliance with Gabriel. Nothing negative can happen to him any longer; he is placed under the great protection.
Body
Complex vehicle—visible or invisible—allowing the manifestation of an Intelligence.
Body of Light / body of immortality
Essene wisdom emanates directly from the divine world. Thus, it can form in the man who welcomes it new organs of perception that will allow him to go himself and draw love and wisdom from the original source. The Essene then begins to receive a substance, a food, a light that does not come from the world of men, but from the divine world, from his Angel. It nourishes and forms, inside and around his body, a body of Light and immortality. This materia lucida, this Light-matter, is capable of transforming the whole of life, of harmonizing everything and of bringing the veritable happiness that no one has ever found in a solely earthly life. The construction of this body of Light and immortality is the raison d’être, the goal of the Essene initiations. Only the construction of the body of Light can allow man to keep intact and pure the divine memory that he will have accumulated in his present incarnation.
Bogomils (circa 800-1100)
At the beginning of the 9th century, persecutions against the Manicheans were multiplying. The religion of Mani was less and less understood and, no longer having masters at its head to breathe into it the spirit that gives life, the Teaching was becoming a dead letter. The immortal religion of the Light was then reborn from its ashes in a new form, in Bulgaria, through the brotherhood of the Bogomils, the “Friends of God”. There, great initiates brought up to date the powerful teachings of Mani, who long before had taught in these lands as Orpheus.
Buddha (circa 624-544 BC)
The Buddha, born and trained in a community of initiates linked to the current of Essene wisdom, had a great civilizing influence, beyond his spiritual influence. All the kingdoms of Asia were touched and renewed by the wisdom of this great master, who was nicknamed the “Awakened One”. The Buddha showed all beings, with rare clarity, the necessity for man to establish the reign of peace within himself and with all the forms of existence that surround him if he wants to see it appear in the world.
Caduceus of Thoth
The caduceus of Thoth, also called the “caduceus of Hermes” or the “caduceus of Mercury”, is the symbol of the alchemists, represented by a staff surmounted by a sun or a winged mirror, around which a white serpent and a black serpent intertwine. It is also the symbol of breathing and of the mysteries of the breath, of inhaling and exhaling, of birth and death, of good and evil, which are the 2 movements of life that the initiate must master. This is why the Greeks represented the Angel, the messenger of the Gods, carrying this caduceus in his hand, to show that the veritable man is the one who masters to perfection the 2 opposite poles of the body and the spirit, thus standing in the balance of the worlds. This symbol can also be seen on the storefronts of Western pharmacies, amputated of one of the two serpents, which shows the fall of medicine, which concerns itself only with the physical body, whereas the key to health lies precisely in the knowledge and the harmonious balance of the two worlds, visible and invisible.
Cathars (1167-1244)
While the Bogomils were persecuted in Bulgaria, the great master Nicetas went to the Pyrenees, in France, where great sages were staying. In 1167, during a high council, Nicetas, dying, passed on the torch of the teaching of the Light to this circle of sages, who were to give birth to Catharism. The Cathars brought a new culture that radiated over all of Europe and illuminated it, delivering men from the prison of the dogma imposed by an obscurantist and murderous Catholic Church. But the beings of power could not bear to see their manipulations thus unmasked, and thousands of human beings were killed, supposedly in the name of the God of love, as Christ himself had predicted. In the year 1244, the entire Cathar priestly college (more than 200 priests and priestesses) was burned alive on an immense pyre, at the foot of Montségur, the cradle of Catharism. The brotherhood of the Cathars was the last initiatic school to have accomplished the covenant with Archangel Michael and the divine world as a people. This covenant is accomplished anew by the Essene Nation.
Celebrations
The celebrations are the great gatherings of the Round of Archangels, which take place four times a year, at the solstices and equinoxes. During the celebrations, the Essenes follow the Essene teachings in the form of lectures, take part in sacred ceremonies and gather together in the temple of the Light to read psalms from the Essene Bible.
To find out the dates of the next celebrations, consult the website www.Esseniens.org, under the tabs “Enseignements”, then “Ronde des Archanges”.
Celestial
Célestin (celestial) is a synonym of “Angel” in the esoteric language of the Rose Cross. This term is sometimes used to designate the celestial man.
Ceremony/ritual/rite
The accomplishment of rites, that is, the performing of ceremonies and magical rituals, is part of Essene culture. The Essenes perform ceremonies in massala, in a sacred setting, to set down writings in their life, in the world of magic. The Essene ceremonies are the subject of ceremony notebooks. Simple rituals are presented in the theme notebooks.
Cernunnos
Cernunnos is the Stag God of the Celts, the king of the forest. His consciousness has kept intact and pure the sacred bond that unites each creature with the great All. Cernunnos is one with the stones, the plants, the animals, the humans, the spirits of nature, the angelic hierarchies and the cycle of the seasons. In the Essene Village of the Maple Tree, in Quebec, a sacred place is dedicated to him.
Child of the Light, child of the Light
When the first word has a capital letter, this term is synonymous with “Essene”.
When the first word has a lower-case letter, this term designates an Essene who has committed himself to serving God for the present incarnation.
Chosen one
For the Essenes, the notion of the chosen one has nothing to do with an elitist vision based on a relationship of superiority and inferiority. Essene wisdom teaches us that man, the universe and the earth together form a whole, an indissociable unity in which the stones, the plants, the animals, the humans, the Angels, the Archangels and the Gods each have their place, without any of them being able to be considered superior to another. The chosen ones of whom the Essene tradition speaks are therefore quite simply men, women who, through their commitment and their work on themselves, have succeeded in uniting with a higher world. They are then chosen, that is, selected by this higher world to serve in the accomplishment of certain goals, for good or for evil. Thus, Jesus was a chosen one of the divine world, whereas Caesar, at the same time, was the chosen one of the dark world.
Christ
For Essene wisdom, Christ is not a God who supposedly came only once to earth, 2,000 years ago, in the person of Master Jesus, only to abandon it in the end to its sad fate. The Essenes, at all times, have honoured Christ as the man of Light, the universal man thought and willed by God at the origin of Creation. He is like the archetype, the original image that every man carries within him, as the seed of a rose carries within it the image of its future, if only it finds the strength to come out of the underground darkness. Such is Christ in man.
Those whom the Essenes call the “masters” are quite simply men, women who have recognized within them this image of the original man and have decided to give it all the right conditions so that it can appear and offer the world all its beneficial virtues. For this, they associated themselves with the Mother as the intelligence hidden behind all the manifestations of life. Then, together, they worked so that this Christ could live again on earth, this universal light that blesses all beings and unifies them as a single family, as the multiple fruits born of the alliance of heaven and earth, of the Father and the Mother.
It must be well understood that for the divine world and for the Essenes, Christ is absolutely not exclusive to Christianity. Christ is the being of Light, the spirit of the Sun that manifested itself on earth through all the envoys of God: the Egyptians called him “Horus”, the bird of the Sun, the Son of the Light; the Hindus, “Vishnu”, the one who balances the worlds; the Mayas, “Quetzalcoatl”, the feathered serpent, etc. Moreover, “Christ” means “anointed”, the one who receives and can give the anointing, exactly like Pharaoh in Egypt, who was considered the chosen one, the blessed of God, the one upon whom Horus, the falcon, the bird of fire, alights. This is reminiscent of Master Jesus, upon whom the dove of the Holy Spirit descends when he is baptized in the Jordan. These are universal symbols that speak of the same mysteries. Moreover, is it not said in the Gospels, speaking of Jesus: “I called my son out of Egypt”? (Mt. 2:15)
Christic consciousness / Christic energy
Christic consciousness is the bond that unites all beings in love, wisdom, truth. Christ is this natural consciousness that allows us to expand and to feel ourselves living in all the creatures of the world in perfect respect, harmony, sacred order.
Circle of 12
In the Round of Archangels, the Angel carrier is directly linked to the influences of Archangel Gabriel and of a circle of 12 virtue Angels, who form his new sky, his new destiny, and who protect him. These 12 Angels form the necklace of Gabriel and are carried, in each Essene Village, by twelve Essenes: the Circle of 12. These 12 Angels form the structure of Light of the zodiac, the divine pattern through which God created the universe, man and the earth. They are the 12 mother virtues maintaining the existence of the entire creation: truth, love, wisdom, openness, hiddenness, communion, balance, individuality, justice, universality, peace and purity.
On this subject, refer to the book by Olivier Manitara The Zodiac of the Angels.
Circle of Angels
The Circle of Angels is a circle of men and women committed to keeping alive the noble virtues that guide humanity. For this, they practise the way of life of the Round of Archangels, which corresponds to a set of universal principles that link all beings in wisdom. These principles were revealed throughout history by the great masters of humanity. The Circle of Angels works beyond nations, religions, parties, denominations. Becoming an Angel carrier is a humanitarian action, a work of universal benevolence, without borders. The Circle of Angels meets every three months, during the great celebrations of the Round of Archangels.
Co-creator
Man is a co-creator with the universe. Indeed, just as the universe, which forms what is called “the Mother”, ceaselessly creates worlds and worlds, so man is the creator of his world and his environment; he is therefore a co-creator with the universe, either in harmony with it or in disharmony.
Common Good
This term is written with a capital letter when it represents the Father and the Mother, the concrete manifestation of the divine world on earth. Jesus spoke these words of profound wisdom: “I am not good, God alone is good.” (cf. Mk. 10:18) By this he meant that God alone is the Good and that the veritable good belongs only to God, that the veritable good is a state of being in which the Father manifests Himself. No man can be good or do the Good; it is only union with the Father and the Mother that accomplishes and makes appear the good without shadow. This good can only be universal and impersonal. It flows from a higher intelligence and not from a concept or a will of man. The good that is limited to man can be the true good, but it can also be usurped.
Concentration
Every living being, whether human, animal, plant or mineral, is the carrier of a particular intelligence and function, a particular mission within the great organism of the earth and the universe. This intelligence, this function, this mission are universal and collective for the animals, the plants and the minerals. But with man appears a process of individualization, which must nevertheless be accompanied by a growing awakening of consciousness to reach its realization. Indeed, this process is not automatic but initiatic and progressive. Through it, man must build himself another body, a barque that will allow him to reach the other shore, that of his soul and his veritable destiny. This destiny is hidden. To find its deep meaning again, man must receive the Name of the Mother and concentrate on it until its full and complete realization. This is why the Essene Teaching says: “The Name of the Mother is the sentence of perfect concentration.”
Congregation, holy congregation
The holy congregation is the circle of the Essenes, of the members of the Christian Essene Church, which flows naturally from the worship of the Round of Archangels. The holy congregation is a circle of educated and free individuals who gather together to make a higher world appear in their midst. The Christian Essene Church is not a congregation of believers but of students, of beings who want to study, understand and awaken inside them the light of knowledge, the fire of love, the strength of creativity, in order to create the future in which they want to see their children grow up and to which they will return in another life to continue their work. In this circle, all beings and all kingdoms are invited. It is a circle of prayer, of study, of devotion inside forces of the Light.
When we enter this circle of the Round of Archangels, we can really begin to work and to invoke higher worlds. Then, in the middle of the circle appears the divine world, which awakens us and nourishes in us what is divine.
The entire daily life of the Essene must be in the holy congregation, in the holy ecclesia, in the Church; then everything he accomplishes goes towards God.
Connect the regions
“To connect the regions” is an Essene expression, a paraphrase of the word “religion”, which comes from the Latin religare, to connect.
Conversion
When the Essenes speak of conversion, it is not in the proselytizing sense that the religions of men have given it in the course of history. However, since the Essene religion appears today as the new shoot on the tree of the Tradition, this means that it has the capacity to lead all the old branches of the ancient religions into renewal and resurrection. Thus, just as Jesus, as the carrier of the new religion in his time, said: “I have come not to abolish the ancient prophets, but to fulfill them” (cf. Mt. 5:17), the Essene Nation and the Christian Essene Church come today, through their divine covenant, to lead all the ancient traditions and religions towards the Light. These must therefore convert, not in the sense of abdicating their particularities, but because it is their only chance not to die out and to enter a renewal.
The veritable conversion is therefore the one that brings man back to the single source of all religions, allowing him to free himself from sectarianism and to rise above all the misunderstandings and all the conflicts of concepts of men. The man who experiences such a conversion understands that God has manifested Himself in a particular way through each religion, exactly in the same way that the light of the sun is broken down through a prism into a multitude of colours, which nevertheless come from one and the same source.
Cosmos
Etymologically, “cosmos” means “order”.
Covenant / covenant of Light
In all traditions, mention is made of an alliance of men with a sacred invisible world. This alliance is made up of 7 kingdoms, which are the 7 days of Creation (the real meaning of the word “day” being “light” and not a unit for measuring time). There are 3 kingdoms above man, which constitute the invisible kingdom of the Father: the Gods, the Archangels and the Angels, and 3 kingdoms that, with man, constitute the visible kingdom of the Mother: the animals, the plants and the minerals. In this perfect structure of the universe, man was placed as an intermediary between the Father and the Mother, having the task of unifying all these kingdoms in a covenant of Light.
The Essenes in all peoples have always been the guardians of this mysterious divine covenant through the centuries. They were its guardians in the Egypt of the pharaohs, with Moses, with Jesus and with all the great Sons of God who came to seal the covenant of the universal common good. This is why the Essenes were also called “Nazarenes” or “Nazarites”, whose etymology (Nazir-ha-Brit, an earlier form of Nazrie-ha-Brit, which is commonly found) means “guardians of the Covenant”, those who protect the hidden and take care of the mystery of God in all things.
In September 2003, around the fire of Archangel Michael, the Essenes sealed the Covenant anew, according to the will of the divine world. Until June 2016, the 4 Archangels of the Essene tradition came to renew this covenant four times a year, during the great celebrations that take place at each solstice and equinox. Then the relay was taken up by the statue of the Light.
By the word “Covenant”, Archangel Raphael means, and one can also understand: God the Mother, the kingdoms of the minerals, the plants, the animals, men, the priest masters, the Angels, the Archangels, the Gods and finally, God the Father. These 10 kingdoms together form the covenant of the Light, which constitutes the perfect government. The Order of Priesthood exists on earth to establish this reign of God and this perfect government in the world of men.
Sometimes, the word “Covenant” designates the guarantor of the Covenant, the representative of the divine world on earth.
Daniel (circa 600 BC)
Daniel is one of the great prophets of the Old Testament and also a prophet of the Koran. An aura of mystery hovers over his writings, like the Book of Enoch or the Revelation of Saint John.
History tells us that the prophet was on the banks of the river Ulai when he saw appear a being without name and without face who represented God, the great Unknown One. “The Nameless One” designates Gabriel as his spokesman, his translator and his messenger to Daniel, the latter becoming the spokesman to men. (cf. Dn. 8:15-16) Thus, the hierarchy is established and the body of a new civilization appears.
Under the commandments of the Nameless One, who stands on the other shore, Archangel Gabriel crosses the river that separates the prophet from the Unknown One and seals the covenant of the two worlds. The power of Gabriel is such that Daniel cannot bear it and he collapses to the ground. Gabriel passes on to him the teaching of the divine world and reveals to him the plans that must be put in place for the future. History tells us that it will take Daniel two days to recover from this encounter.
Twenty-three years later, the Archangel manifests himself to him again, but this time through a man whom the holy writings call “the man Gabriel”. (cf. Dn. 9:21) This story tells us that this man Gabriel was an Essene, that is, a being of the divine mysteries. He stood in a sacred school and studied beside a river the tradition that had existed in Egypt and also among the magi. He was part of a college of initiates that maintained relations with various similar organizations in several countries. This was related to ancient traditions that, indeed, ended up giving birth to Judaism, Christianity and Islam as we know them today.
The Essenes of all eras have always honoured the Nameless One and the Faceless One. They have always known that the mystery of God shows itself through the 4 faces that are the 4 letters of the Name that must be hallowed, the 4 Gods, the 4 Archangels: Michael, Raphael, Gabriel and Uriel, and also the 4 Angels of fire, air, water and earth. In the story of Daniel, it is the face of God the water that addresses the prophet and initiates him into the mysteries, leads him and gives a form to the immortal teaching that is to guide men. This face of the God Water appears in the form of Archangel Gabriel. The teaching that Daniel will receive will have an extraordinary influence on the history of humanity, for it inspired the Greek, Jewish and Christian civilizations, and therefore Islam and the modern world. Gabriel was the barque that allowed him to cross the river of Initiation and to acquire a greater and more accurate vision of life.
Daughter
The physical body of man and the personality, the me that inhabits it. The Daughter is man who has turned his consciousness towards the outer world and found himself captured by the tempting serpent, which engenders death.
Demeter
Demeter is the great maternal Goddess of the earth, of agriculture, of fertility and of the mysteries of Eleusis. She grants her blessings to those who welcome and respect her and punishes the others. She knows the secret of ambrosia and of the fire that opens the gates of immortality. Mother of all individualized souls, she is the guardian of Initiation.
Devourer
“Devourer” is a term that comes from the mysteries of ancient Egypt. It designates the antithesis, the opposite of Maat, the Goddess of truth, who appears through everything that constitutes the visible world and gives it meaning, beauty, intelligence, wisdom. Maat is the celestial order that manifests itself right into the earthly reality, through everything that surrounds us in nature: the stones, the plants, the animals, men; all this constitutes a perfect world, a structure of Light allowing man to return towards his divine origin. Thus, everything we see is Maat, is truth, wisdom, word of the Gods. But there is another aspect of reality and of the visible world: it is the side of appearances, which hide the truth and make us believe that we know things, whereas we consider only the outer, mortal side. If man sees a thing without seeing its inner life and the intelligence hidden behind this thing, it means that the Devourer has taken hold of him, that she is in his eyes, his ears and all his organs of perception. Then man sees only voidness and himself becomes a voidness; he is in the world of the Devourer, he is no longer with Maat, the omnipresent beauty and intelligence of God in all the manifestations and forms of life. Thus, it can be said that the Devourer is also a guardian, a protector of the divine world, for she destroys, recycles everything that wants to approach the truth in order to steal it or prevent it from manifesting. This is why man must be awake in order to know what in his life belongs to the Devourer and will go to recycling, and what is immortal, divine and cannot be taken away from him, if and only if he cultivates it and takes care of it.
The Devourer is the same being as the being of the statue of Recycling and Benevolence, who is in fact the Mother.
Divine hierarchy
The set of kingdoms that have remained faithful to the Father: the Gods, the Archangels, the Angels and the masters.
Divine order
Synonym of “Divine hierarchy”.
Divine seals / 4 Seals / seals of the Archangels
During the celebration of Archangel Michael in 2007, the Essene Nation received from a world even higher than the Archangels the revelation of 4 seals in order to anchor the presence of the divine world on earth. These 4 seals constitute the divine quintessence of the 4 elements as well as the body of manifestation of the 4 Archangels in our world. Work is the seal of Archangel Michael and the divine essence of fire; Health is the seal of Archangel Raphael and the divine essence of air; Family is the seal of Archangel Gabriel and the divine essence of water; Money is the seal of Archangel Uriel and the divine essence of earth. But in the world of men, these 4 seals as well as the 4 elements have been cut off from their divine origin and diverted for mortal purposes, solely for the satisfaction of men, to the detriment of the other kingdoms of nature. The Father, through his hierarchy, therefore asked the Essenes to set down the 4 original seals of the divine world on earth so that work, health, family and money would once again be “bridges” that link man and the earth with their divine origin. Setting down these 4 seals was a work of Light of great difficulty, for these 4 fundamental pillars of the life of men are extremely polluted and distorted in the current world.
The first 3 Seals were set down in 2009 and 2010, and as the Essenes were not succeeding after more than a year of intense work, Archangel Gabriel finally set down the seal of Money.
To maintain the activation of these 4 seals as the permanent presence of the divine world on earth, the 4 Archangels passed on to the Essene Nation the 4 worships of fire, air, water and the earth of Light. These rituals, of great magical power, are celebrated daily in the Essene Villages by priests who have reached the 4th step of Initiation, that of the alliance with the world of the Archangels.
One of the great missions of the contemporary Essenes is to re-establish the divine value of these 4 seals so that they are no longer means of enslaving man, but liberating and sacred activities that give him back his dignity.
Divine world / world of the Father
The divine world is the source and origin of all life and intelligence. It is the Word of the origins of which Saint John speaks, without which nothing can come to life. (cf. Jn. 1:3) It is the sun of all suns living in the infinitely small as in the infinitely great. The divine world, or world of the Father, is made up of the 4 worlds of the Gods, the Archangels, the Angels and the masters. The Gods are the divine and eternal principles of all things; there is a God in the tree, a God in the fire, a God in the water, a God in the sky, a God in the mountain, a God in the eagle, in each animal... The Archangels are the guardians and the representatives of all the sacred laws of life that allowed the creation of man, the universe and the earth. The Angels are all the virtues of the Light: wisdom, love, truth, peace, goodness, harmony, clarity, gentleness, etc. The masters are those who represent the divine world on earth and open for it the doors of realization right into the world of men and of nature.
Dove of the Holy Spirit
When Master Jesus told his students that in the world one had to be cunning as the serpent and guileless as the dove (cf. Mt. 10:16), he was revealing the existence and the nature of the 2 great cosmic principles that are at the origin of all creation. On one side, there is the force of the earth, which, like a serpent, seeks to rise towards heaven, like the seed buried in the soil; and on the other side, there is the light of heaven and of the stars, which, like a dove, seeks to touch the earth to envelop it with its divine gentleness, peace and harmony. This is why the Christians called the Light the “dove of the Holy Spirit”. The Egyptians had called “Horus”, the “falcon of heaven”, this principle of the Light that comes from the sun to fecundate the earth and awaken in it the serpent of wisdom, the force of the Mother that leads everything towards flowering and fulfillment. Thus, the mission of every man coming into this world is to unite within him the serpent of wisdom and the dove of the Holy Spirit in order to bring forth the Light right into the outer world and the reality of daily life.
Dream image
Dream images are created by the genies. For example, an animating force, that is, a spirit, tells man to go and drink some water. If man is conscious and looks inside himself, into the hidden side, he will see that in reality, he saw himself drinking a glass of water before having drunk it. An image was formed in him before the act took place, because things always happen in the invisible before being accomplished in the visible. Nothing happens on the physical plane without first having been accomplished on more subtle planes. If man lets images that are not good enter him, he will be harassed by these images, which will live in him, keep him in illusions and tell him what he must do, how he must act: he will be spellbound. To be aware of this, one must develop night vision (see “World of the night”).
Earth of Uriel / earth of Light / land of the living
The land of the living of which the Old Testament speaks—in particular in the psalms—designates the same sacred mystery, the same subtle reality as the land of Light of the Manicheans, the Shamballa of the Buddhists or the celestial Hierousalem, the holy city of the Revelation of Saint John; closer to us, Master Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov also spoke of it. It is not a utopian and distant kingdom or another planet, but indeed Mother Earth, in her double visible and invisible aspect, who appears as the perfect reflection of the divine world in the eye of the man who is awakening and has succeeded in uniting his vision with the great vision of the Angel that the great masters of wisdom have passed on to humanity. When a man thus succeeds in entering the land of the living and walking in it, everything begins to speak to him of an omnipresent divine wisdom and intelligence; he no longer perceives only forms, but their soul and their intelligence, the sacred message of God hidden in all things.
This earth, the Kabbalah calls it “Malkuth” or “earth of the ishim”, that is, of the “flame-men”, those who have lit within them the divine fire of Archangel Michael and who have surrounded themselves with the earth of Uriel. This earth is vivified by the purest thoughts, feelings and wills of the men who, through Initiation, have succeeded in uniting with the Sun-Christ, with the divine presence at the heart of consciousness and of life. They have vanquished the outer light and the attraction of the physical body.
Today, the earth that exists in the sky above humanity has not been written by the Light, but by a dark world. If the Essenes succeed in rewriting in the sky of men the vision of the world according to the tradition of the Light, the earth of Uriel will appear in the sky. Men will have access to this promised land and they will be able to live with it, for “what is below is like what is above”.
Ecology
For the Essenes, ecology has been the foundation of life on earth for millennia, long before ecology was spoken of. In its current modern conception, ecology is a sickness, for it was born from the fear of men of losing their conditions of earthly existence and not from the impersonal love and will to bring happiness and the beautiful life to all the creatures of the world: humans, animals, plants, minerals, the elements (earth, water, air, fire) and all the spirits of nature that animate them and guarantee their harmony. It is above all this harmony that must be preserved, and then all the rest follows. The Round of Archangels is an attempt and a means unique in the world to restore the harmony and purity in which all the beings of nature once lived, who could then bring abundance and prosperity to the whole earth and all of humanity.
Eden
“Eden” is another formulation of one of the many Names of God of the kabbalistic-Essene tradition, which is pronounced “Adonai”, which means the God of life, the Word, the divine intelligence that speaks through the sky, the stars, the grass, the animal, the stone, all beings.
Egregore
Egregores are subtle collective beings, created by the common thoughts, feelings and desires of a group of beings. These egregores form the spiritual world that surrounds the earth and humanity. These collective entities are nourished by men to satisfy their intellectual, moral and even spiritual needs. Thus were born the religions, but also modern science and materialistic beliefs.
Eightfold path of the Buddha
The eightfold path of the Buddha is set out as follows: right concentration, right mindfulness, right effort, right livelihood, right action, right speech, right thought, right view.
Elements
The 4 elements—earth, water, air and fire—together form an indissociable unity that gave birth to what is commonly called “life”. The Essenes, like all first peoples, recognize and venerate through this universal manifestation of life the presence of God the Mother, the other pole of the spirit of the Father, his body, his tangible, concrete revelation.
Elements, spirits, genies, egregores
The elements constitute the physical world, the world of earth; the spirits are the animating forces of the world of water, which manifest and act in nature and in man through his thoughts, his feelings and his desires, for good as for evil; the genies constitute the spiritual world, the world of air and of the atmospheres of the soul, good or bad; the egregores form the world of fire, of the luminous or dark collective intelligences that govern the peoples. If man is in the service of the divine world, all these worlds become luminous and support him in his impersonal service, but if he does not conform his life to the divine laws, these worlds enter into anger and vengeance and turn against him.
Elijah (circa 900 BC)
Elijah was the heir to the secret teachings of Moses intended to keep the Essene tradition pure so that Christ—the Horus of the Egyptians, the great spirit of the Sun—could find the favourable conditions for his incarnation through an Essene master. This is why Elijah restored in secret the teachings of Isis and had a temple built for feminine initiation on Mount Carmel, where Mary was to be prepared for her mission. From Elijah was thus born a current of women initiated into the Mother, into the virtues of gentleness, tenderness, purity, without which Jesus could not have been born and Christ could not have appeared in the world to deliver it from ignorance and unconsciousness.
Eliphas Levi (1810-1875)
In the 1860s, the French occultist Eliphas Levi, in a letter to a disciple, prophesied the coming of the masters Peter Deunov, Rudolf Steiner, Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov and Olivier Manitara. He announced the appearance of a current of renewal that would originate from the Slavic countries (Peter Deunov), that would then incarnate in Germany (Rudolf Steiner), then in France (Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov). He said that the last great master of this current would be the reincarnation of Enoch and that in the year 2000 of our era, he would make the Tradition be reborn on earth, that is, he would create a new filiation from the source, through the Covenant. This is the work of Olivier Manitara. He created this filiation, but he is not the one who is to accomplish it. Two other great masters will still incarnate after him, and the last one will bring the Light onto the earth.
Enoch (more than 50,000 years BC)
In all the traditions of the peoples, there is talk of a very distant past when humanity did not really live in a body such as we know it now, but in a world of dreams where everything was possible. This world was the creation of a fallen archangel called Lucifer. It is in this illusory world formed by the sick angels that the one who became the first man-God, Enoch, was born. Enoch is the father of the tradition of the Children of the Light in all peoples. He was the first priest of the Most High, the first scribe who revealed the divine laws and taught them. He was the first builder of temples and the first celebrant of the divine mystery on earth. He is also the father of the Round of Archangels, the father of all the masters, the messengers of the Light, and that of each Child of the Light who walks in his footsteps.
He is also the founding father of the Essene Nation, which manifested itself in the course of history through the lineage of the sons of Enoch: the rishis of India, the pharaohs of Egypt, the magi of Persia, the prophets of Israel, the Essenes of Palestine, the Manicheans, the Templars, the Cathars, the Rose Cross... And now it is resurrected, 700 years after the disappearance of the Cathars, in accordance with their prophecy, made in 1244, and with others that had announced the return of Enoch in the year 2000 of the Christian era. And indeed, Olivier Manitara resurrected all the knowledge and memory of Enoch for our time through the great Essene method of union with the divine world: the Round of Archangels. Enoch was the first man to receive this revelation of the 4 Archangels, which is found in his sacred book.
On the subject of Enoch, see the book by Olivier Manitara Enoch and the Angels, Being Taught by an Angel, That Is the Secret.
Envoy / envoy of the Father / envoy of the Light / envoy of God
The envoys of the Father, or “envoys of the Light”, are the Sons of God, the great masters who came to earth to bring the light of the Father into the darkness of the world of men: Enoch, Krishna, Zoroaster, Hermes Thoth, Akhenaten, Moses, Orpheus, Elijah, Buddha, Lao Tzu, Pythagoras, Plato, Jesus, Mary, Saint John, Mani, Padmasambhava, Peter Deunov, Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov... All these masters—to name only these ones—are part of the same tradition, which is that of the Light. It is men who created religions from their teachings; at the base, they are one and the same current, and the teaching they passed on is the universal wisdom, the divine word, which must nourish all beings.
Synonyms of “Son of God” / “Son of the Sun” / “Son of the Light”.
Esclarmonde of Foix (circa 1151-1215)
Esclarmonde, sister of the Count of Foix, was ordained into the Cathar brotherhood in 1204 in Fanjeaux, in France. Her mystical experiences very quickly made her the first priestess and the great vestal of the Cathar church. Her social and spiritual work was considerable. Under her impulse, many hospitals, homes and schools, where a new teaching in the light of the spirit was offered, were set up and opened to all. She remains one of the strong emblems of this attachment of women to freedom of belief.
Essene
In the original language of humanity, ESSENE meant the one who studies God through all his manifestations and who takes care of Him by cultivating all the virtues of the Light, which the Essenes called the “Angels”. Thus, “Essene” designates a state of consciousness and a way of being in the world that have always existed on earth and that are potentially present in all human beings, like a divine and immortal seed. The Essene wants to live with his soul, take care of the divine in all things and commune with the great omnipresent intelligence through the 7 kingdoms of the covenant of Light. It is to make this possible that the Round of Archangels, the Essene Nation and the Essene Villages were created.
On the tree of humanity, the Essenes are the buds. They are at the origin of all the luminous cultural and spiritual currents. Most of these currents later crystallized, until they became religions or philosophies. The Essene school that lived in Palestine 2,000 years ago (and that we know through the famous Dead Sea Scrolls) preferred to disappear rather than be taken over and inhabited by men of power and pride who would have distorted its teaching and used it to enslave and exploit their fellow men. The word “Essene” has therefore remained pure. This is the reason why Olivier Manitara chose it as a reference, although the spiritual teaching of the school of God is universal and can be found in all the initiatic traditions.
Essene baptism
The Essenes have always considered and used water as the inevitable passage and the entrance door into the sacred world. Man must purify the water of his inner life, his thoughts, his moods, his will, so that his acts are the manifestation of wisdom and not of the unconsciousness and dumbness of the ordinary man. The ancestral initiation of the Essene baptism is transmitted again within the Round of Archangels during the celebration of Archangel Gabriel. During this initiation, the soul of the candidate is freed from the sick spirits that seek to keep it prisoner of the body and death, and it can begin to walk on the path of resurrection and immortality. But in reality, for every authentic initiate, the Essene baptism is a permanent act, a self-awakening and an observation of oneself that make it possible to always be aware of the influences at work, around oneself and within oneself. It is an inner discipline, an art of living with respect for the divine laws.
The Essene baptism is a science of the liberation of the soul. It was practised in the Egyptian mysteries in the time of the pharaohs. Moses received it as an inheritance and was called the “one saved from the waters”. The Virgin Mary was also initiated into this science by Essene priests trained in the lineage of Moses. Jesus received it from John the Baptist in the Jordan.
On this subject, refer to the book by Olivier Manitara Be Reborn through the Essene Baptism.
Essene flag
The Essene flag is made up of 4 quarter circles in the colours of the Archangels, placed in the order of the 4 letters of the Name of God: Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, Uriel. In the centre is a representation of the menora.
Essene geography
For Essene wisdom, geography is not limited to an exclusive study of the visible world; it includes the subtle and invisible worlds. Thus, the earth is not only a visible being; it is also an invisible being endowed with a soul and an intelligence. Man does not evolve only on the visible earth, but also in several worlds that it is necessary to know, and therefore to study rationally.
For Essene wisdom, there is the world of recycling, which corresponds to the visible world and to the materialistic philosophy.
Then there is the world of death, also called the “beyond”. This world is made up of a set of invisible worlds that incarnate through the philosophy of the spiritualists, of certain idealists and of the various religions. All these territories correspond to the world of man.
Higher still, there is the world of eternity, populated by the intelligences that maintain the divine world in the heart of darkness and chaos. This world opens with the masters and the great mysteries of the spirit. To approach it, man must be trained, educated. In the old language, it was said that he had to be initiated, that is, to have made himself a body through the body of the master. Jesus, an Essene master, will use the same language when he says: “Whoever wants to approach eternal life must eat my body and drink my blood.” (cf. Jn. 6:54) This is a hermetic language for laypeople, but limpid for the initiates.
Essene Gospels / Gospels of the Archangels / Gospels of God / Gospels of the new beginning
Since the dawn of time, the Essene tradition has been the guardian of sacred knowledge. It can be said that all the sacred texts of humanity are “Essene”, that is, universal, emanating from a single source that is at the origin of all traditions and religions, of all spiritual currents. This source manifested itself and spoke through the mouth of the great masters. Unfortunately, their words have been systematically distorted through dead religions, which proclaimed themselves the sole guardians of the truth, thus excluding all the other facets of the truth. But God has never stopped speaking. His word is like a river that passes from one master to another, not to serve an isolated religion, but to illuminate the whole earth. Such is the vocation of the contemporary Essene Gospels, which are the new revelation of the divine world for our time. These 4 Gospels are made up of the words of the Archangels Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel, preciously gathered by the Essenes every three months, during the great celebrations of the Round of Archangels between September 2003 and June 2016, that is, over thirteen years. These words are presented in the form of psalms, 1,158 in number, each one subdivided into verses.
Essene initiation / Initiation
The Essene initiation comprises 7 degrees, called “steps”.
The first step consists in entering the Round of Archangels and carrying the Angel of the Round of Archangels. After one year, the Essene can undertake the initiation of the 4 bodies, at the end of which he receives the Name of the Mother, the name of his soul, which corresponds to his mission for this incarnation. When he is born of the Mother, he is invited to do the initiation of the 5 senses, during which he must cleanse all his senses to begin to perceive a world he does not yet feel.
When he has reactivated his 4 bodies and purified his 5 senses, he can undertake the initiation of the 6 moons, which leads to the alliance with an Angel. From the moment he succeeds in this high initiation, he stands on the second step.
When he has purified his 5 senses, he can do the initiation of the serpent of wisdom, which consists in sealing an alliance with this serpent.
Afterwards, he passes the third step and masters the tempting serpent. Then he passes the 4th step, the one where the masters stand, and he enters what is called the service of the worships of the 4 elements. He has access to the world of the Archangels.
The fifth step corresponds to the exit from the world of man to enter the world of the Gods. The sixth corresponds to union with the Mother. The seventh is union with the Father.
Master Jesus stood on the seventh step of Initiation and Master Mani was on the fifth step. Closer to us, the masters Peter Deunov and Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov both stood on the 4th, and Master Rudolf Steiner on the third. Olivier Manitara currently stands on the 4th step.
Essene Initiations
The Essene Initiations comprise a set of initiations allowing man to find again his role as intermediary in the alliance of the 7 kingdoms, notably the initiation of the 4 bodies, the Name of the Mother, the initiation of the 5 senses, the initiation to the serpent of wisdom and the 6 moons.
The initiation of the 4 bodies precedes the veritable rebirth of the soul, which takes place during the initiation to the Name of the Mother. Only the Mother can give man the veritable name of his soul and his life mission for his present incarnation. Then the Essene must form the 5 senses of his reborn soul and pass the initiation to the serpent of wisdom. He can then seal an alliance with his Angel through the initiation of the 6 moons. It is the last intensive initiation of the Essene, who becomes a veritable initiate. He must finally confirm his initiation through a concrete work in the service of the Essene Nation. The work in the service of the Father leads him towards the perfect mastery of his life and his destiny. He then stands on the second step of the Essene initiation, which contains 7.

Essene Library
The Essene Library presents the teachings of the Essene Nation: the 4 Essene Gospels, the study books and others, the teaching notebooks, the ceremony notebooks and the theme notebooks, the letters of Olivier Manitara, the lectures, in audio or video form, etc. By becoming a member, the subscriber supports the work of the Essene Nation, by making it possible to give a body to God through the printing of the teachings and sacred texts. His support also makes it possible to present Essene wisdom to the whole world.
In addition to access to all its documents, the Essene Library offers every month a book of Essene wisdom to study as well as a theme notebook comprising a theoretical part and a practical part (meditations, songs, meditative movements, dances, exercises, rituals). These documents are sent to the members in paper and electronic versions.
The Essene Library also offers access to the media library, which includes more than 500 lectures, via Essenia TV.

Essene Nation / People of Essenia
The Essenes are not a people of blood, but a people of the soul that knows no borders, neither in time nor in space. Like a chameleon, the people of Essenia adapts to the cultures, the eras, the languages of the world without ever losing its unique identity. And this is precisely its strength. The Essenes live in constant resurrection and welcome the manifestation of the divine in its ever-new form. Today more than ever, the Essenes are active in preserving their universal knowledge around the living heir of this unbroken lineage: Olivier Manitara. In 2006, faced with the world situation, they decided to create the Essene Nation in order to allow the Essenes of the whole world to live in accordance with their convictions.
To learn more about the Essene Nation, refer to the book by Olivier Manitara The Essene Nation, Its History, Its Work, and visit the website www.Esseniens.org.
Essene psalm
A sacred text of teaching passed on by an Archangel, generally in his temple during his celebration. Called “psalms” because they are cantillated by the Essenes throughout the year, these texts are living and possess magical powers. They are a concrete manifestation of the divine world.
Essene Village
The Essenes are not believers but practitioners. They have always gathered in villages to live according to their culture and with respect for Mother Earth. Today, the Essene Villages are living places in which man learns to live in accord, in harmony, in dialogue with the Mother. It is a new way of being in the world. It is an ambitious project, a grandiose achievement. Three Essene Villages have already come into being: a first one in France, a second in Quebec and a third in Panama, where the garden of the Light is being set up.
To learn more about the Essene Villages, refer to the book by Olivier Manitara The Essene Village.
Etheric body
The etheric body, also called the “body of life”, “vital body”, “body of the will”, “energy body” or “water body”, is located just behind the physical body. It is the invisible double of the body of man and the intermediary with his eternal soul. It is in this body that the psychic and spiritual centres of man appear, in the form of roses of Light, known in the Hindu tradition by the name of “chakras”.
Etheric grid
The omnipresence of technology and the atmospheric saturation of electric waves form a kind of etheric grid that levels consciousnesses, limiting to the utmost any initiative that could incite men to come out of this skilfully woven grid.
To learn more on this subject, refer to the book by Olivier Manitara The Metallic Grid around the Earth.
Ethers
The notion of “ethers” is found in all the traditions of the peoples. It refers to the subtle and invisible aspect of life, which is in fact the essential part of the life of man. Man is not only a physical body; he is also a water body, which is made up of all his desire-wills, his feelings and his thoughts. Above this water body, there is an air body, in which his destiny is built, according to the nature of his desires, feelings and thoughts. Finally, there is the fire body, which constitutes the most subtle and spiritual essence of the being, his divine core, his immortal soul, which remains eternally, beyond life and death. All these subtle bodies of man are so many layers that the ancients called “ethers”. These ethers are neither positive nor negative in themselves; they are like water, which becomes healthy and curative or unhealthy and sickly according to the nature of what is put into it.
Eye of the master / eye of Horus / eye of Gabriel / eye of the Sun / eye of the Light / inner eye
If you want to go towards the divine world, you must look with the eye of the master, the inner eye. The master passes on clear vision, the eye that illuminates the worlds. The Egyptian myths tell us of the battle of Horus against Seth, an enormous battle that Horus won. He was victorious because he had opened the eye of Gabriel, the inner eye. The eye is the barque that allows you to travel in the worlds, not in the worlds of illusions, but in those of truth. With your physical eye, you can see the world of matter, but with the inner eye, you can see the spiritual worlds. The eye of the master is what illuminates and reveals all the secrets of life.
Fabre d’Olivet (1767-1825)
A French writer and historian, Antoine Fabre d’Olivet is an exceptional man, who fought forces that came at him to prevent him from expressing himself, from speaking of the mysteries, of the Holy Scriptures, of another view of religion and of life. In the tradition of the Light, this giant of the spirit opened the way for Rudolf Steiner, Peter Deunov and Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov.
As a writer and philologist, he devoted a large part of his production to the Occitan language, with writings such as La Langue d’Oc and Le Troubadour. He is also the author of The Hebraic Tongue Restored, Philosophical History of the Human Race, The Golden Verses of Pythagoras...
At the end of his life, Fabre d’Olivet performed a worship in a personal chapel. Beings of black magic, greedy for power, assassinated him, for they had seen that he was not an ordinary man. They performed a magic on his body so that he would be trapped, prisoner in the beyond, and forced to give them his knowledge. He remained for several years under this curse, and it is the Essenes who delivered him.
Facts, laws and principles
The trinity of facts, laws and principles is linked to the knowledge of the 3 worlds passed on by the ancient Egyptian-Hebrew science of the Kabbalah. Facts correspond to the world of the body, laws to the world of the soul and principles to the world of the spirit. The ancient Greeks called these 3 worlds: the earth, the universe and the Gods. Facts are the Angels, laws are the Archangels and principles are the Gods.
Fall
All the sacred texts of humanity speak to us of the fall as of a great universal upheaval. Indeed, humanity lost contact and the covenant with the divine world. Originally, humanity lived in a universal consciousness and a perfect unity with the Gods, outside of all separativeness. But there came a moment when a part of humanity became aware of its creative power. Man then understood that he could create a world and worlds in his image, outside of the will of God and of the Gods. This part of the original humanity, called “Adam” in the Old Testament, fell, that is, it came out of its state of unity with the whole and toppled into a world of chaos, where the divine order, wisdom and love no longer reigned. It was then that from this fallen world a cry of suffering and despair rose up towards heaven and the humanity of Light, which had remained pure and faithful to the will of the Source. Touched by this cry of despair from its fallen brothers, the humanity of Light united with the celestial hierarchies to create the universe as an order of rescue, with the aim of allowing all the fallen beings to have a path of liberation and of return towards their original homeland. When the earth was sufficiently organized and structured according to the plan of the divine world, men-Gods were chosen and sent to draw this path from below to above, from earth towards heaven, through the schools of mysteries and the Essene tradition. Enoch was the first of them. This is why he has been honoured and venerated in all traditions, under different names, as the founding father of the tradition of the Children of the Light.
Fasting
Food deprivation, or a more subtle fast that is not a deprivation, but rather a sublimation, a work on oneself, an inner discipline, an observation of oneself, a fast from certain imprisoning thoughts or feelings with the aim of bringing others only the best of oneself. It is an individual but also a collective discipline, emanating from the realization that what one thinks and says acts upon the other, for good as for evil.
Father
The uncreated fecundating principle, at the origin of Creation.
Fear of God
For the Essenes, the fear of God is not the expression of an outer fear of a God who would punish man personally or deprive him of a paradise because he did not conform to a religious morality. The true fear of God is the one that is born in the man who understands that the law of God is living, not as an established dogma, but as an eternal truth that acts beyond human will and morality. The fear of God will become in such a man like a real voice alerting his consciousness each time a bad thought crosses him or he is about to say a word or accomplish an act that would hurt another.
Fecundation
The concept of fecundation is fundamental for the Essenes. It designates processes of exchange between different levels of existence. For example, the invisible worlds can put certain thoughts, certain feelings or desires into the human mind with the aim of engendering acts in the physical world. These acts are likened to children brought into the world. In the same way, the human being can fecundate the invisible worlds.
Fingers
The thumb is the finger of Mars. The index finger is the finger of Jupiter. The middle finger is the finger of Saturn. The ring finger is the finger of the Sun. The little finger is the finger of Mercury.
Fire and Light worship
The Light worship is the highest magic that currently exists on earth. It consists in giving a body to God the Light on earth, in bringing God forth, in taking care of Him like a child entrusted to us. This worship began officially at the celebration of Gabriel 2015-2016, when for the first time Essenes committed themselves to serving God eternally, to being parents of the Light. The practice of the Light worship consists in reciting the psalms of the Archangels daily, in front of one’s statue of the Light, in a temple set up in one’s home and consecrated to this worship. This temple includes the statue of Recycling and Benevolence, the invocation triangle, the 2 statues of the Guardians of the Worship, the prayer mat with the mandala of the Angel carried by the parent, the pulpit-altar and another prayer mat, on which the statue of the Light is placed.
Fire, air, water, earth worships
The daily celebration of the 4 element worships, performed by priests of the 4th step of Initiation, allows the 4 Archangels to activate and maintain the covenant of Light that links the Essene Nation with the divine world. Through the permanent covenant of the Essene Nation with the 4 Archangels, these worships have the capacity to act in all the worlds and upon all of humanity to nourish and make grow the divine fire, the divine air, the divine water and the earth of Light in all beings. The celebration of the 4 Worships at the heart of the Essene Villages makes it possible to enter into a permanence of the Light.
To learn more about the Light worship, refer to the book by Olivier Manitara The Light Worship.
Flower of meditation / flower of awakening
The flower of meditation is the blossoming of consciousness and the flowering of the soul through the alliance with an Angel, the guardian of a divine virtue such as goodness, gentleness, nobility, purity, simplicity, beauty. The awakening of the flower of meditation is one of the major objectives of the practice of the Round of Archangels. The psalms of the Essene Gospels are studied for this purpose. Then man, who appeared in the eyes of the divine world as a seed, appears as a flower in full bloom, and the path of his veritable destiny is open to him.
When he commits himself to carrying an Angel in the Round of Archangels, the Essene orally makes the solemn request to appear in the circle of the Essene Nation as the flower of meditation. This flower is not only a poetic image; it really appears in the invisible worlds above the head of the Essene as the awakening of a higher consciousness in him. It is the second birth of which Christ spoke (cf. Jn. 3:3) and the awakening of the lotus flowers taught by the Buddha. This flower carries and conveys into the magical worlds that surround the Essene the presence of his Angel, its colour, its fragrance, its spiritual atmosphere, its universal message. The Essene does not carry this flower for himself, but as an offering for the Archangels, so that through it they can touch the earth and bring the blessing of the Father into the heart of all the living kingdoms of the Mother.
Food
Food is not only material. Everything that our spirit, our soul feeds on is food, such as knowledge, wisdom, love. Thus, what emanates from us is also food for other beings, whether it is a healthy, living food that nourishes higher worlds, or a spoiled food on which the world of recycling feeds. We can also speak of a subtle food, such as culture or the social climate, which nourishes and forms the subtle bodies and senses of man without his necessarily being aware of it. It can be said that the masters, through the Teaching, bring the food that awakens souls. Man must receive the right food, the right elements he needs to create a body for himself in purity.
Forces
Designates the higher intelligences of good or evil when they set themselves in action to influence beings in order to reach their goals.
Forgiveness of trespasses
The Essenes, like many other first peoples, consider that current humanity was born from a fall in which it is held prisoner. This fall into the world of matter was not negative in itself, but it became so because of the dumbness of man. Instead of accepting that the earth is a living being, a Mother who is there to help him straighten up from his fall, man profaned it, leading into slavery all the kingdoms that constitute it: men, but also the animals, the plants, the minerals. It is to allow contemporary man to come out of this collective unconsciousness of humanity and to help him weave once again a conscious bond with Mother Earth that the Essenes created the ceremony of the forgiveness of trespasses. This sacred rite is based on the secret science hidden in the Our Father, the great prayer of Jesus. Through this ceremony, man can again dialogue with Mother Earth and walk on the path of greatness, of the beautiful life useful to the all. The ceremony of the forgiveness of trespasses is practised before or during each celebration of the Round of Archangels.
On the subject of the forgiveness of trespasses, refer to the book by Olivier Manitara The Forgiveness of Trespasses.
Freemasonry
The French term franc-maçonnerie (Freemasonry), which can be translated literally as “free construction”, was used for the first time in the course of the 17th century in England to designate initiatic brotherhoods of which Francis Bacon, alias William Shakespeare, was one of the great founding masters. Their first goal was to create a new civilization, based on the 3 well-known principles: liberty, equality, fraternity. It was therefore more a philosophical and spiritual construction than a physical and material one. However, Freemasonry, in the idea it contains—beyond this rather recent name—goes back to the dawn of humanity, in particular to Enoch, the founding father of the Essene tradition. Enoch was the first constructor and builder of a civilization based on Initiation and on the universal laws by which the universe, man and the earth were built. Thus, it can be said of him that he is the father of veritable Freemasonry, the one that rebuilds man through divine education before building physical temples. It is in the footsteps of Enoch that the greatest builders of the divine world on earth later worked, such as the Egyptians, the Sumerians or the Incas.
Fu Xi (circa 2800 BC)
Little known in our Western culture, Fu Xi is the founding father of the grandiose civilization of the China of the Sons of Heaven. He is also the author of the Kings, the founding texts of Chinese wisdom, from which the very famous I Ching (The Book of Changes) is taken. It is thanks to this extraordinary being and to his sacred texts that China is the country that remained at peace the longest, until only a few centuries ago.
Gabriel
Archangel Gabriel is linked to the mysteries of the aura, of the human soul that surrounds man like an envelope of darkness or of light. Man attracts to himself what he is, what he manifests and accomplishes in life. Thus, according to the nature of his thoughts, his moods, his acts, he attracts to himself certain influences that weave the thread of his destiny and prepare his future. This is why the Essenes have cultivated through the centuries the science of the purification, the healing and the liberation of the soul through the Essene baptism of Archangel Gabriel, the Father of divine water. Thanks to the mysteries of this baptism, man can enter the ascending current of the river of the Essene tradition and be delivered from the unconscious influences of his family, national and world heredity.
Gabriel is the great Archangel of love, for he allows the path to open at every moment and man to awaken in his inner life. Archangel Gabriel, through the ambiance he makes appear in winter, invites men to turn towards the essential, to cultivate what lives inside them as virtues, as warmth of heart and purity of intention in relationships.
Archangel Gabriel offered the Essenes the 22 commandments and the 22 arcana, the science of the liberation of the soul, the Circle of 12, as well as the teachings on the water lily, on the passage of water, on the eye of Gabriel, on the subtle hair, on the purification of the water of relationships, on the angelic zodiac...
Garden of Adonai / garden of the Light / garden of Uriel / garden of silence
“Garden of Adonai” is a synonym of the “garden of Eden” of the Holy Scriptures. In the Essene vision of the world, this term is not attached to an abstract spiritual concept evoking a distant past that is over. No, this most sacred of terms speaks to us of an inviolate place in man, a sanctuary where the purity and harmony of his immortal soul reign. The garden of Adonai is the garden of the master; it is the place of the second birth, the sanctuary of the heart, the secret chamber of which Jesus and all the masters of the Tradition spoke. But it is also a sacred place that must exist again on earth as the living temple of the Holy Spirit, where the Father and the Mother will be able to unite through the celebration of the divine mysteries. Thus, one of the missions of the Essenes is to make this place appear right onto the physical plane through magical gardens, enchanted forests in which men will be able to live as in the original times, in perfect harmony with nature. From these gardens, through a particular Essene initiation, must be born a lineage of sages and masters whose mission will be to make appear on earth a new intelligence that will be the cradle, the matrix of a new humanity.
The garden of the Light, which is the seventh stage of the Essene Nation, is being brought into being in Panama.
Genies
The spirits are the animators of the inner life of man, whereas the genies act more around him. They are the aura, the atmosphere that surrounds and animates everything he does. They manifest as dream images, tinting his breathing atmosphere with a certain colour, a certain ambiance, of harmony or disharmony. There are genies of the Light and others that are sick, born of the unconsciousness and the dumbness of man.
Gift of tongues
This “gift of tongues” quite simply means the capacity to understand all beings, the hidden language through all the forms of life. The circle of the twelve apostles of Jesus received it in an exceptional way at Pentecost. (cf. Acts 2:4)
Gnosis
Gnosis is the Light in its intelligible manifestation, appearing to man as a higher knowledge that is not learned, an intuitive wisdom, a direct knowingness. It can reveal itself only to the one who has recognized that life, in all its manifestations, is the revelation and the materialization of a universal higher intelligence that it is impossible to limit to a particular religion or philosophy. In this, the Essenes are gnostics, for to them, all the authentic religions and traditions are the different facets of a single diamond, of a primordial tradition and of a universal and eternal teaching whose masters are the guardians and the activators in the world of men.
Gods/Divinities
According to the Essene cosmogony, which is found hidden in all the traditions of the peoples, the universe was created in 7 days, that is, in 7 luminous manifestations that succeeded one another on an incalculable time scale, “day” in Hebrew meaning “light” or “luminous manifestation”. From the most subtle to the densest, there are thus: the Gods, the Archangels, the Angels, men, the animals, the plants, the minerals. The Gods are therefore the summit of creation, the ultimate achievement, the kingdom of existence closest to the original source, the Father. The Gods are the organs of the Father. A God is found in the maple tree, in the water lily, in the mountain, in man... All the manifestations of life are letters of the alphabet of the Father. The residence of the Gods is the world of the spirit. Man is in the service of the Gods of the Light and of the good, who make the Covenant triumph, or else he is in the service of the gods of evil, of those who usurp the mysteries of the spirit.
Golden calf
In Essene wisdom, the “golden calf” is an image that was used by the sages, including Moses (cf. Ex. 32), to represent the worship by the unconscious man of his body and of what is mortal. This identification with the body leads man towards the fall and the loss of all the values that the divine world put in him.
Grail
The Holy Grail, or sangréal in the Occitan language, designates the cup that supposedly gathered the royal blood (sangréal in Occitan) of Christ at the moment of the crucifixion. This cup is surrounded by a mystery that, in fact, goes back well beyond the crucifixion of Master Jesus. Certain medieval legends say that this cup was carved from a green stone that supposedly fell from the head of Lucifer when he became a fallen archangel.
For the Essenes, all these legends around the Grail in fact speak of the mystery of the construction of a body of wisdom and immortality inside man, so that he can welcome the Light and live with it, the Light that is the true blood of Christ, the divine life. It is said that this cup is carved from a green stone, which is known today by the name of “nephrite jade”, the stone of immortality par excellence, the only one capable of keeping the memory of everything that is divine and of rejecting what is not. The divine secrets linked to this stone are resurrected within the Essene Nation thanks to the renewed alliance of the Essenes with Archangel Raphael, who has at all times been the guardian of the mysteries of immortality, the great Hermes Thoth of ancient Egypt.
Great House / Great Temple / Great Earth
In Egypt, Pharaoh was called the “Great House”, the “Great Temple” or the “Great Earth”, for he was the total man, the one who had succeeded in unifying within him the 7 kingdoms of the covenant of Light and in making it living and present in all the homes of Egypt, for the good of all beings and of the whole earth. He had become a collective being and all lived in him. Jesus, the last divine pharaoh to have succeeded in this miracle, passed on this wisdom through his word: “I am in my Father and you in me and I in you.” (Jn. 14:20) Today, the Essene Nation, with the Round of Archangels, its villages, its houses of God and its massalas, constitutes this body of Christ, this great body of the Light that offers itself to be shared with the whole world for the Common Good; it is the Great House for our time.
Great work
The notion of the great work was particularly dear to the alchemists of the Middle Ages as well as to the Masonic and Rosicrucian brotherhoods of the 17th and 18th centuries. The elaboration of the great work, also called the “realization of the philosopher’s stone”, consisted of an alchemical operation whose goal was the transformation of lead into gold. But this very real phenomenon is only the outer form of the great work, its experimental aspect. The veritable great work is the one that consists in transforming the coarse man, through a higher education and wisdom, into a man-Angel. Such is the mission of the Essenes, which, over the centuries, has manifested through all their civilizing works, above all in the Egypt of the first pharaohs.
Green stone / Green Stone of Raphael / stone of immortality
A mineral—a variety of actinolite, nephrite jade—used on the indications of Archangel Raphael and associated with his teachings on immortality and the preservation of the divine memory. Also called the “stone of immortality”, it is part of the practice of the Round of Archangels. The green stone has the unique particularity of keeping the memory of everything that is divine. Once it has been consecrated through a sacred ceremony of the Essene Nation, nothing can remove the vibrations it has recorded. The Essenes use consecrated green stones for their spiritual works in order to activate the presence of their Angel. Through the “Pure Ether” project, some are placed on mountaintops in order to constitute a network of Light to purify the atmosphere and strengthen the presence of the divine in the air.
Hell
Hell is not a place where man would be burned in blazing flames for eternity; it is quite simply a lower state of being of man, a vibratory degree of consciousness in which he can no longer awaken inside the subtlety of the worlds that surround him and animate him without his knowing it. Man then lives only in his body and for his body, completely unaware of the other worlds that constitute him. Thus, in the notion of hell, at least in its original meaning, there is no idea of wickedness or of damnation by a God who would condemn beings for eternity. This represents a childish and extremely limited vision that has engendered much useless suffering in the world.
“Hello” and “thank you”
For the Essenes, “hello” and “thank you” are the 2 great mantras of life, on which all men should concentrate before repeating mantras from traditions that are not their own and that they do not understand. If a man does not know how to say “hello” or “thank you”, he is not a veritable man. The veritable man comes onto the earth saying “hello”, bringing the “greeting” of his soul, the blessing of what he is to all beings, so that when he leaves the earth, all beings, in all kingdoms, say “thank you” to him. If, at the end of his life, man receives the “thank you” of the earth and of all the creatures it carries, it means that he has been a veritable man.
Hermes Thoth (circa 2400 BC)
Hermes Thoth manifested himself in continuity with the tradition of the magi and the work accomplished by Zoroaster. Aware that a long period of decadence of human consciousness was setting in, he veiled under the seal of the hieroglyphs the entirety of the secret science of the Egyptian hierophants so that no ill-intentioned (or even well-intentioned) being could divert it for political and personal purposes, as had happened at the end of Atlantis, causing its final destruction. This is the origin of the tarot, which contains in its esoteric symbolism the total knowledge of the laws that govern the universe, man and the divine world. This is why Hermes was called Trismegistus, the thrice great, the one who knows all the worlds and can travel in them.
Hermetic
This word is derived from the name of Hermes Thoth, who was a great master of the Essene tradition. His mission was precisely to make the understanding of the mysteries inaccessible at a time when they were being profaned and led solely towards the glory of man. What we know today as the tarot deck is one of the works of Hermes Thoth. It is in reality a secret book, containing the greatest mysteries and secrets of life.
Hidden sun
This hidden sun is the Christ of the original Christians, the Osiris of the ancient Egyptians; it is the spiritual body and consciousness of the original humanity, of which each human soul is a ray, a cell, an organ. Thus, by each finding again their right place in this universal organism, correctly educated and trained human beings will be able to reconstitute the body of Osiris, the body of Christ.
Hieroglyph
“In ancient Egypt, the scribes played an essential role. The hieroglyphs, the medu neter, ‘words of God’, were carefully distinguished from the profane language and reserved for the specialists who had access to the temples. This unique language, a receptacle of the creative forces, lived by itself. Inscribed for eternity, it has crossed the ages and remains remarkably relevant today.
In the hieroglyphs was inscribed a magic, heka, which allowed the scribes to divert the negative forces and to build a creative thought in harmony with the universal laws.
Has this science of the ‘hierogrammates’, the beings capable of incarnating a sacred writing, had any posterity? This is the conviction of Olivier Manitara who, in the era of all-things-digital, persists in thinking that writing is the carrier of values and meaning. Through calligraphy, so dear to the East, he proposes a spiritual method that highlights an exceptional organ: the hand.
And what would the spirit be without the hand?” (Christian Jacq, for the book Magical Calligraphy)
Hierogrammates
“Hierogrammate” comes from the Greek words hieros and grammatikê, which mean respectively “sacred” and “art of reading and writing”. The hierogrammates are the scribes of the Essene Nation. They constitute a sacred order whose mission is to give form to the contemporary Essene teaching. Heirs to the secret science of the ancient scribes of Egypt, they dedicate their time to the safeguarding and the transmission of this teaching. Their task consists in gathering the words, the writings, the drawings, the movements, the ceremonies, the sacred songs passed on by Olivier Manitara. Everything is archived, organized and made available through books, booklets, letters, websites, audio CDs or videos, etc.
For information on the Order of Hierogrammates, visit the website esseniens.org, under the tabs “Pour en savoir +”, then “L’Ordre Hiérogrammate”.
Hietora
The father-in-law of Moses, priest of Midian in Africa, a great master, a great guide of the black race.
In the Old Testament, he is named Jethro. “Jethro, priest of Midian and father-in-law of Moses...” (Ex. 18:1)
Higher intelligences
In the Essene teaching, the term “higher intelligences” designates the 3 higher and invisible kingdoms of creation, which are the Angels, the Archangels and the Gods. Each of these divine kingdoms has a shadow: the fallen (or sick) angels, the counter-archangels (or archons) and the false gods. These dark higher intelligences gave birth to the world of man, to the world of the fall.
House of God
The house of God is the tradition of the Light: “This tradition of the origins is the house of God itself.” (Michael 195:7) It is also the name given to the Essene churches: “Then open sacred spaces, build churches all over the earth, in all places. In these houses of God, establish the study, the devotion, the worship and the work of the Essene Nation and of its religion. Thus, all men, believers or non-believers, will be able to find a space of recollection, of peace, of comfort, of relief, of inspiration, of healing, of fraternity, of tolerance, of replenishment.” (Michael 195:10)
Humanity of Light
The humanity of Light—also called the “Essene Nation”, the “people of Essenia”, “Terra Essenia”, the “Land of Light”, “Shamballa”—does not designate a small group of human beings on earth. All these terms designate the community of the souls who, through the centuries, have been the carriers of a divine light, of a sacred message for the earth and all of humanity. These beings have thus formed around the earth a land of Light, of higher consciousness, upon which the divine world was able to alight through Angels, sometimes Archangels and very rarely Gods. Cyclically, doors are opened between the earth and the humanity of Light by the unbroken lineage of the great masters and their initiatic schools. Then the opportunity is given to all the beings who are ready to work on themselves to fulfill all the conditions for the manifestation and the incarnation of the humanity of Light right into the world of men and the kingdom of the Mother.
“I am what is”
In Hebrew, this word of the Bible is written: Anouki Adonai, which means: I am God, the One who is, who was and who will be.
“I want to be stable, son of stable, engendered and conceived in the kingdom of stability.”
These words are a magical formula of consecration that comes from the Egypt of the pharaohs and of the high priests of Osiris. Stability was called the “djed pillar”, and the mission of the priests was to raise it up and maintain it in permanent stability. This pillar was the sacred bond between man and the divine world, the covenant of Light that unites heaven and earth. In the Egyptian and magical vision of the world, if this pillar were to collapse, all of humanity would collapse and fall.
I/I-Am
The sacred individuality of each being, able to manifest through a mortal existence.
Ieupaneurythmy
Since the dawn of humanity, the art of movement, of gesture, of dance has awakened human beings to a higher consciousness and dimension of life. There has been a continuity in the revelation of this art of movement. Passing through the gymnosophists of India, the sacred dances and gestures of the different peoples, the yogas, the combat techniques, tai chi and qigong, we have arrived at the eurythmy of Rudolf Steiner, who raised movement all the way to the art of the word. Master Peter Deunov gave a universal character to the impulse brought by Steiner through his Paneurhythmy, a dance that allows a circulation of the energies of healing and regeneration. Then the art of meditative movement was raised all the way to the divine world through ieupaneurythmy, brought by Olivier Manitara, which completes the work in perfection, for it contains all the components of this art of meditative movement:
IEU is the union of heaven and earth, of the Father and the Mother, of the Great Spirit and of the universal living soul. IEU represents the world of fire and of Archangel Michael.
PAN is the universal aspect, the garden of Light, the God of the universe, the one who directs the destiny of all the worlds. PAN represents the world of air and of Archangel Raphael.
EU represents the individual soul of beings and things, the formative force of life, the reflection of the higher world in the individualized aura. It is the mirror of consciousness in which thoughts, feelings, the will act. EU represents the world of water and of Archangel Gabriel.
RYTHMY is the creative force that animates matter, the form that is set in motion by an invisible force. It is also time, or the movement of time, which leads towards voidness, death, or towards life, depending on the world that sets it to work. RYTHMY represents the world of earth and of Archangel Uriel.
IEU PAN EU RYTHMY is the perfection of the art of movement, therefore of life. Life is God Himself, the sacred presence of the Father.
Individuality
See “Ray-I”.
Initiation
Circumstances (natural or organized) allowing the passage from one state of being to another.
Instructor
An instructor is a master who instructs all beings in the light of the knowledge that enlightens, who passes on universal wisdom. He is a being carried by a tradition and a people. Synonym of “master”, “teacher”.
Intelligences
Subtle beings, linked or not with the Father, living in different kingdoms, having an origin and goals of their own.
Isis
Isis is the guardian of feminine initiation in all men. She knows all the secrets of magic for vanquishing the dark forces that want to sow death and anarchy in the world. Wife of Osiris, whose body she reconstituted after he had been put to death by his brother Seth, she represents the Tradition, the one who carries the throne, but also woman, the earth, the Mother, nature, the human soul. The man who wants to go towards a higher world must present himself before the Mother, Isis, and enter the throne of Osiris, whose 4 pillars are the 4 bodies to be re-formed in man through the initiation of the 4 bodies. Osiris is wisdom and Isis is the school of wisdom, the path that allows all the beings imprisoned in darkness to straighten themselves up and return towards their original consciousness, their veritable self.
Jesus (0-33)
Jesus belongs to a lineage of masters who came to earth to manifest the divine law of the Light and of love. Jesus was an exceptional master; he had succeeded in opening all his senses to unite with his Father in the Light. This is why he was called the Son of God. Saint John says of him that he is the word of God, his Word of Light. He also says that the wisdom of the Law was given through Moses (Ramon, priest of Osiris), but love and the veritable self came through Jesus Christ. (cf. Jn. 1:17) This is a direct allusion to a succession, to a progression in the work of the envoys of the Father. Jesus continues the work of Moses and carries it forwards. Jesus is linked to Moses and notably to his experience of the burning bush and his encounter with the Word I-Am. (cf. Ex. 3:14) I-Am is the veritable self, the presence of God in man. Moses saw the divine I at the summit of a sacred mountain and gathered from it the teaching of wisdom, which he then passed on to the men who had remained in the valley. Jesus merged with the divine I until he was one with it and himself became the burning bush in the midst of men.
Johannite
This name designates the disciples of Saint John, or else the “John-men”, that is, those who have become “beloved” of God, not because they are supposedly beings superior to other men or “chosen ones”, but because they really live with their soul, through the inner work they accomplish on themselves and through a discipline and very precise rules of life. They are also characterized by an inner commitment (which was also the subject of an official and solemn sacrament) to serve the divine world until death and beyond, from life to life, until God considers that they have accomplished the mission He expects of them. The words “Cathar”, “Essene” or “Bodhisattva” (among the Buddhists) contain this same profound meaning.
Joints of the human body
According to Essene wisdom, the joints of the body of man are the extension of much more subtle joints that link man with the different kingdoms of nature and with the divine world. Thus, the joints of the feet, that is, the ankles, are the manifestation in the body of man of his relationship with the earth and the minerals; the joints of the knees are linked to the plants; those of the groin to the animals; the spinal column to man; the neck to the sphere of the masters; the hands and the wrists to the Angels; the elbows to the Archangels; the shoulders and the collarbones to the Gods. This Essene teaching on the joints contains a profound wisdom that is part of the school of Archangel Gabriel and of the mysteries of water.
Jubilee
The jubilee—also practised in Judaism—is the last year of a seven-year cycle, constituting a period of transition for the Essene Nation. The word can also designate a seven-year cycle.
The Essene Nation began a cycle at the celebration of Archangel Michael in 2003 (first psalms of the Archangels), and this cycle ended at the celebration of Archangel Uriel in 2010. Its jubilee thus took place from Michael 2009 to Uriel 2010.
The following cycle of the Essene Nation began at the celebration of Archangel Michael in 2010 and ended at the celebration of Archangel Uriel in 2017. The jubilee was thus to begin at Michael 2016, but through the commitment of the Essenes to the Light worship, in the circle of parents, the door of the jubilee opened instead at Gabriel 2015-2016: “I simply want to tell you that the jubilee you were expecting for the celebration of Archangel Michael, you have in reality just opened it. You thought that this jubilee would begin in September and that for this, you would receive instructions from the covenant of Light, but I tell you that you have just opened it through the commitment of the circle of the parents of God.” (Message from the Angel of the Father, “The entry into the Light worship and the opening of the jubilee”). The Essenes nevertheless performed the ceremonies of passage through the doors of the jubilee at the celebrations of Michael 2016 and of Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel 2017.
Justified soul / redeemed soul
Unlike the soul-group, in which man loses his individuality and the sense of responsibility towards all beings, the justified soul is the soul of the man who, in the course of his earthly existence, extracted himself from the unconscious mass by individualizing himself through a work in the service of the Common Good. Thus, at the moment of the passage of death, it was found just before the divine world and before all the worlds, visible and invisible. The Egyptians called this privileged soul “true of voice”. This soul, freed from the chains of karma and false destiny, has the privilege, after its death, of consciously choosing its path of evolution: either to reincarnate as an Essene to come to the aid of humanity, or else to evolve in other spheres of existence, in the world of immortality.
Justify the teaching of the Light
To “justify” the teaching of the Light expresses the fact that it is up to the Essene to show that it is just and to make it real and living right into the concrete and tangible reality. If the Essene does not do this, the Teaching remains a dead letter, an abstraction, and it cannot be passed on. Before being passed on, it must be lived and thus “justified”, demonstrated as just, made real and living.
Kabael
The Essene word “kabael” was formed from the Arabic word ka’ba, which means “cube”, and the Hebrew word El, which means “God”. It means “the house of God”, “the tradition of God”, passed on from generation to generation.
Kabala
The origin of the word kabala is lost in the mists of time. Contrary to what is customarily said, this word does not come from the Jews, although the Kabbalah is the esoteric doctrine of Judaism, passed on by Moses to the inner circle of his students. In the Egyptian hieroglyphic language, the 3 syllables ka, ba and la correspond respectively to the bull, the bird and the sun, and thus express the union of body, soul and spirit. The Egyptians considered Pharaoh the guarantor of this sacred union of the Father and the Mother, of spirit and matter, for he was the soul of Light, the bird of the sun, the falcon Horus who descended from heaven to lead the whole earth into the Sun, into the kingdom of the Father. This is why they called Pharaoh Kabala or the Great House, which was represented by the pyramid as the perfect symbol of the union of heaven and earth, of the visible and the invisible. For the Essenes, kabala thus designates the body of the master, which is the bread of life, the divine teaching that re-establishes harmony and peace in all the worlds and allows men to enter immortality.
Ka designates the body of the Tradition manifested in the world by Pharaoh, that is, the master. He is the guarantor of the transmission of the body and the memory of this timeless, primordial tradition. This is why Jesus, as the representative of the Essene tradition, will say: “No one can go to the Father except through me” (cf. Jn. 14:6), except through the living tradition incarnated by a man prepared and consecrated to this mission.
Ba designates the soul of the Tradition, which opens the path of flight towards the higher worlds and union with the spirit.
La is the spirit of the Tradition, the Father. In the musical scale, it is the note that harmonizes all the other notes. Thus, la represents the origin, the centre and the summit, the living unity of the multiple voices.
Karma
Every human being who incarnates on earth is inevitably the prisoner of 4 karmas: individual, family, national and world (all of humanity). The being who wants to journey on the path of the Light must make these 4 spheres of his global being, which is individual but also collective, perfectly conscious and clear. To free himself from the family, national and world karmas, man must imperatively associate himself with a family, a nation and the humanity of Light. Such are the role and the responsibility of the Essene Nation within the great body of humanity.
On this subject, refer to the book by Olivier Manitara Rites of expiation.
Karmic almond
From the region of the diaphragm down to the feet resides an almond-shaped magnetic field that contains the impulses, the feelings, the models of life and action that carry consciousness. This is what the Teaching calls the “karmic almond”. It is the one that governs humanity and keeps the earthly me in a kind of shell of passivity and slumbering. It transforms human beings into robots by cutting them off from the higher forces. The hold of this almond is all the more powerful as it is located in the region of truth and acts. It is the one that touches the inner earth, the sacred place of fecundity. It is the door of fertility, in the image of the female sex, which also resembles an almond.
Kether
In certain representations of the tree of life, the original source, called Kether (which means the crown), is represented by the 4 Living Beings surrounding the throne of the lamb of which Saint John speaks in the book of Revelation. (cf. Rev. 4:6) These 4 Living Beings are the 4 Archangels who form the Round of Archangels, which the Essenes celebrate throughout the round of the year.
Kingdom
Each of the 7 natural kingdoms constituting the original harmony of the world. Four kingdoms are visible to our common senses (minerals, plants, animals, men) and 3 others are subtle (Angels, Archangels, Gods). The kingdom of the masters is sometimes mentioned as different from that of humanity, the latter having separated itself from its original state and living outside of this hierarchy.
Krishna (circa 2900 BC)
At the time when Krishna was born, only Egypt still remained the carrier of the great light brought by Enoch, right into its way of governing the people. Thus, it is in the temple-schools of Egypt that Krishna came to be trained to prepare his mission: to restore to its original purity the teaching and the place of the Brahmins in the government and the tradition of the Hindu people.
Lamb, wedding of the lamb, throne of the lamb
The word agneau (lamb) comes from the Sanskrit agni, which means “fire”. The lamb is the divine fire, the spirit. The throne of the lamb is the physical body and the personality, the me that inhabits the body. The personality of man is the bride adorned for the wedding of the lamb, for the union of the divine spirit and matter, the marriage of man with the veritable self that he is from all eternity.
The bride is the personality, the negative serpent, and the lamb is the individuality, the positive serpent, Christ.
In the Gospel according to John, John the Baptist says: “It is the bridegroom (the divine) who has the bride (the soul); and yet the bridegroom’s friend (the human person), who stands there and listens to him, is filled with joy at the bridegroom’s voice. This is the joy I feel, and it is complete.” (Jn. 3:29) Saint John also speaks of it in his Revelation: “And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” (Rev. 21:2)
Lao Tzu (604-479 BC)
A contemporary of the Buddha and of Pythagoras, Lao Tzu, in the image of his glorious ancestor Fu Xi, made the wisdom of the Essenes shine in all its brilliance, from which Confucius drew inspiration in the following century to lay the new foundations of Chinese government. The Tao Te Ching (Book of the Way and of Virtue) of Lao Tzu is one of the greatest books of wisdom ever written, drawn from the very source of the intelligence of the universe, which reveals itself through the great book of living nature.
Layperson
If man approaches the Light with the seed of man, he wants to transform gold into lead, and this is a profanation. This is why the one who still stands in the forecourt of the temple is called a “layperson”, that is, the one who is not initiated, who does not know the Teaching and who carries within him the seed of lead and not the seed of gold. His path is unconscious. He follows the transformation that leads to death and not the one that leads to resurrection and life. The sun that the layperson knows is the deceitful light, the one that illuminates only appearances. The layperson must pass through a veil that is covered with hieroglyphs and enter the temple. To be born to life is to have passed through the door of the temple and entered the sanctuary, where the 4 Divinities are, who show you the fifth: you. Then you receive the seed of the Sun and you must put it to work by accomplishing the great work, the magisterium of the Sun.
Life for the all
“Life for the all” is an expression, like a motto that contains all the wisdom and the ideal of life that the Essenes have always pursued. We owe it to Master Peter Deunov, who resurrected for our time the art of living in harmony with the Father and the Mother that the Essenes have cultivated since the dawn of time.
Light
Presence of the divine in all the worlds.
Living Being, the 4 Living Beings
The 4 Fathers of the elements are the 4 Living Beings in all the traditions of the world, the 4 aspects of life that are found through the round of the year in the 4 seasons: the two solstices and the two equinoxes. They are the 4 great Archangels of the Essene tradition, who carry the 4 great letters of the sacred Name of the Father of life.
Lucifer, world of Lucifer
Lucifer is the law of the spirit, the law of expansion, just as Satan is the law of matter, the law of condensation. Lucifer and Satan are the higher intelligence of the world of man, the 2 poles of the Usurper, who stands in the centre. Lucifer corresponds to the freedom that man has as a soul endowed with consciousness and discernment. Man can choose to give his existence to death or to life. Lucifer reigns in the world of death, which men call the “beyond”. He governs the spiritualists, whereas Satan governs the materialists.
Lucifer is the fallen archangel who brought freedom to man, the choice between the false light and the true one. Through this choice, he created man, his world, his destiny, and proclaimed himself his god. Lucifer created man in the subtle world; he put a spirit, a soul, a shadow into his body. Before, man existed in his body, but he was pure, he was a Son of God, he was not aware that he was a man. Man became a man because he became aware that he was separated from the divine world. He awakened to the knowledge of his own being. This knowledge was given to him because a falsely luminous spirit, Lucifer, entered him and possessed him. Lucifer created the mortal destiny of man. He created man free to choose between being a Son of God or being a man.
The will in man came from Lucifer, who brought forth the world of death through the separation from the world of eternity. He is the light, the knowledge that is given to man, but that deprives him of the divine world. The one who loses the bond with the world of eternity instantly finds himself plunged into the world of Lucifer, death, in which he becomes conscious and where he has the choice. If man does not have a body of wisdom, he becomes the servant of Lucifer, who will lead him to be only a man and to live for the kingdom of man.
When man has cultivated noble, religious, philosophical or humanitarian ideals during his life, he enters at his death into what the Tradition calls the “world of Lucifer”. It is a world of ideal beauty in which man finds again the perfect, living projection of everything he believed in, of the world he dreamed of. But this was an illusion, for it was a projection in which he took refuge, but which he did not succeed in incarnating in the reality of his life; it is therefore a mask that cannot enter the divine world, the world of eternity, since it is false, that is, unreal, not incarnated. See also “World of water”.
Lust
The French words luxe (luxury) and luxure (lust) both come from the Latin lux, “light”. What man today calls “luxury”, that is, “light”, should in fact be called “lust”, for it is a false light that degrades him, chains him and strips him of everything that is precious in him.
Magic
Magic is the science of the mastery of influences, the art of mobilizing intelligences and forces. It is independent of man, for it is magic that sets the laws in motion and makes them act. Man possesses within him the power to activate magic, but he can also be activated by it. Magic is universal; it is what allows and directs birth in all the worlds, for it organizes the placenta of life. The Essene who studies the laws and the secrets of the magical art must awaken his consciousness in absolute purity through all his organs and all his senses in order to recover the power of magic that is in him and that belongs to him before destiny. Magic is the only means of directing one’s life consciously, of orienting one’s path and of accomplishing on earth. It is the consciousness of exchanges and the mastery of influences within the placenta of the Light or of darkness.
One of the goals of the Essene Nation is to teach magic in order to allow magicians of Light to be born to themselves. Essene magic is sacred and beneficial. It leads one to take one’s life in hand, to do good around oneself and to serve the divine higher intelligence.
In the Essene tradition, it is said that the sacred science of divine magic was passed on to the Essenes by the great Zoroaster (more than 2500 BC), who himself received it from the divine world to drive darkness out of the heart of humanity, which was being manipulated without its knowledge by great black mages.
Man-Angel
A man-Angel is a man who goes towards a higher world, towards the kingdom above that of man, which is that of the Angels. He is a man made great by the presence of an Angel in his life. We speak of an ennoblement of man, of a man who has awakened his consciousness and who works on himself according to an eternal wisdom.
Man-God
The men-Gods (men and women) are the great masters, the envoys of the Father, who came to earth to pass on the wisdom of the higher worlds, the word of God. Synonym of “Son of God”.
Mandala
The word “mandala” comes from ancient Sanskrit and means “circle”. The circle is the visible part of the spiral of energy that animates it. In the symbolism of astrology, the zodiac, image of the universe, is represented by a circle, and the sun, the king-star, by a circle with a point in its centre. The circle and the spiral are the symbols of the universe, of perfection, of evolution, of creation and of the Creator. All geometric and symbolic figures have their origin in the circle. Thus, the mandala is a magical pattern representing the power of the whole. This power is linked to the knowledge of the constant exchanges that take place between the centre and the periphery.
Mandala of the Angel / mandala-talisman of the Angel
Within the daily practice of the Round of Archangels, to strengthen and vivify the alliance with their Angel and its luminous influence in the whole world, the Essenes accomplish a magical work. To accomplish this work, made up of sacred movements and words, the Essene must stand on a mandala-talisman that represents the virtue of the Angel he carries. This mandala, with a sacred geometric structure and colours that vary according to the virtue, is a magical talisman, for it allows the one who steps onto it to be instantly linked with the Angel who is the guardian of the corresponding virtue.
Mani (216-276 or 277)
Mani was born in Persia, in a gnostic community linked to the schools of mysteries of Egypt and to the Essenes of Palestine. Through his union with the source of all knowledge, he was able to teach the Christians the esoteric and liberating aspect of universal Christianity, to unveil to the magi of Iran the foundations of the divine magic revealed by Zoroaster and to explain to the Buddhists the path of the liberation of the soul through the elaboration of a body of wisdom through the cycle of reincarnations. This exceptional man, this lover of God, thus consecrated his life to spreading the teaching of the Light in a large part of the world. The Church of Justice, the religion he instituted, radiated its light for more than 1,000 years. In the Essene Nation, the pillar of earth carries the magical staff that is consecrated to this master.
Mantra
A mantra is a magical word that incarnates and expresses on its own an entire world, a higher intelligence of the Good, of God, or of evil, of the Usurper. Thus, the sentence “You absolutely must have the answer” is the mantra of the dark and sick intelligence of the education of the world of men, which is in the service of the Usurper. This intelligence wants to take man into an illusion of knowledge and knowingness, where the soul is not only not taken into account, but is led into slavery.
A mantra is also a hidden word that synthesizes a collective intelligence. Thus, the representatives of education in our world will not speak these words directly to those whom they teach, whatever their age, but they will be the “soul” of their words, what animates them, like an image or a subliminal message in an advertisement.
Mantric word / magical word
A mantric word is a magical word in the sense that it possesses the capacity to awaken the divine in the man who speaks it and studies it and to raise his consciousness into a higher and divine world. It is a word of wisdom that comes directly from the divine world and that was spoken by an authentic master with the aim of forming in man subtle organs of perception capable of understanding and penetrating the higher intelligence of the divine world. Through a single mantric word, man can understand the greatest mysteries and form for himself a body of Light and immortality. It is the science of the magical word, which alone can awaken the veritable creativity of the human soul. This sacred science is a path of initiation in its own right.
Maple Tree
In 2007, Olivier Manitara asked the being of Quebec, its egregore, to present itself to him in order to know whether he had the permission to settle in Quebec and to work there, and it was the being of the Maple Tree that manifested itself. The Maple Tree explained what was permitted and what was not, and this was the beginning of a very beautiful love story between the Tree-King and the Essenes. The Maple Tree became an Essene; it has transmitted many messages in which its great wisdom and its desire to help all beings to find their veritable self again and to re-form the great family of the alliance of the Father and the Mother manifest themselves. For their part, the Essenes devote to it very deep feelings, which are expressed in individual or group encounters, songs, dances, rituals... They created the Circle of the Pure Hearts of the Maple Tree, whose activities aim to weave ever deeper bonds with the Maple Tree.
Mary, Mary Magdalene (1st century BC - 1st century AD)
The preparation, the birth and the evolution of Jesus were to a large extent a “women’s affair”. Mary was a great priestess of the people of Essenia, trained and prepared for her mission on the slopes of Mount Carmel, within the temples built at the initiative of the prophet Elijah. Thus, she contributed in an active way to the development of her son by passing on to him all her virtues. When he reached adulthood, it was Mary Magdalene who took extreme care to make sure that Jesus was always in the best conditions to accomplish his mission. These two extraordinary women in turn became authentic masters; they were living incarnations of the Mother of the world, daughters of Isis, the great initiator who knows all the secrets for bringing forth the Light on earth.
Mary was the great vestal of the mysteries of Heliopolis and of the Essene brotherhood. In her initiation, she merged with the soul of the Earth and became the loving protector of all men.
The name “Mary” comes from ancient Egypt and means “Beloved of God”: Merikare. She is the bride of God, who gives birth to the religion of God.
Massala
“Massala” means “house of the sun” and designates a group of Essenes who meet to study, sing, dance, practise the movements, the rituals, etc. This term was formed from mas (“house” in Provençal) and sala (“sun” in certain dialects of Latin or Provençal origin).
The Essene massalas are places of sharing, of encounters, of celebration and of study of the deepest mysteries of life. The watchword there is: study, devotion, celebration of rites, accomplishment of the works of the Light. It is through the activation of these 4 pillars of the Teaching that the Essene builds his body of immortality and becomes a free builder of the divine world, on earth as in heaven.
Master
It is in the nature of man to seek to reach the accomplishment, the most complete flourishing of what he does. The carpenter seeks the mastery of his art, just like the architect or the musician. It is the same in the domain of the alliance with God. An Essene master is a man incarnating to the highest degree his tradition, which is that of the Light. He does not come for men; his only raison d’être is to serve the Father, the divine in all beings.
In the Essene texts, the term “master” is often used in the sense of “Essene master”.
Me / mortal me / earthly me
The personality of man, constituted at the time of his incarnation.
Melchizedek
Melchizedek is the initiating father of all the men-Gods for this present cycle of evolution. He is no longer born of woman. He is the guardian of the purity of the primordial tradition and of the divine teaching.
Memorial
Placed at the heart of the Essene Villages, the memorial is a sacred temple whose magical function is to preserve the divine memory of the deceased Essenes, thanks to a particular worship using the green stone of immortality, as well as the 2 magical books of the genies and of immortality. Thanks to this worship of the divine memory, each Essene, when he reincarnates, will have the capacity to find this memory again from his earliest age and thus be able to continue his work without having to start everything over from zero, which is the case today for the great majority of human beings.
Men
The kingdom situated between that of the animals and that of the Angels. Can also designate current humanity, separated from the original harmony.
Menora
“Menora” is another sacred name designating the covenant of Light of the 7 kingdoms of creation, which links heaven and earth, the Father and the Mother, through man, the Son. The 3 invisible kingdoms of the Father are the Angels, the Archangels and the Gods; the 3 visible kingdoms of the Mother are the minerals, the plants, the animals. Man is thus in a pivotal position, for he is the only intermediary between heaven and earth, and he carries within him the 7 kingdoms through 7 increasingly subtle bodies.
Moses gave this name in homage to the great solar God of Egypt: Amon-Ra, of which “menora” is the anagram. As Egypt was collapsing under the hold of the usurper of Pharaoh, Ramses II, Moses had to leave the country and changed all the Names of God so that they could not be profaned. Thus, Amon-Ra, the light of the sun that unites heaven and earth through the 7 colours of the rainbow, became “menora”, the 7-branched candlestick that carries the 7 flames of life, which, all brought together, form the single light of the Father and the Mother.
Merkaba
In the Hebrew language—a translation of the Egyptian hieroglyphs—formerly used by the Essenes to reveal their profound mysteries while hiding them, merkaba designates the construction of a body (kaba, which means “house”) of Light that man must accomplish step by step inside himself through Initiation. It is through the construction of such a pure etheric body that the soul, prisoner of the physical body and of matter, will be able to free itself from them during the great passage of death and fly away like a bird (ba in ancient Egyptian) towards the higher and divine worlds. The ancient Egyptians represented the merkaba by the hieroglyph of Pharaoh on his chariot, a symbol that the Essenes were to take up and that is found in the Old Testament through Elijah returning to God by flying away on a chariot of fire. (cf. 2 Kgs. 2:11)
Michael
At the autumn equinox of 2003, Archangel Michael descended for the first time into the fire lit for him by the Essenes and manifested himself through messages, which were the beginning of the Essene Gospels of the Archangels.
Archangel Michael is the one who carries the sword of decisions and the scales of consciousness, the scales of judgement in which the acts of man are weighed. Michael is the fire consuming everything that is impure and false. To approach Michael, man must be centred in his ray of eternal flame; otherwise, the fire burns even the eye that looks at it, consumes the body and the ethers that surround the body. In man, the fire of Michael is the spark of Light that is at the origin of all beautiful thoughts, of the most beautiful ideals of the human soul. It is the particle of eternity in man, what cannot die but can simply fall asleep. The man who approaches the fire of Michael through his autumn celebration receives the seed of a new thought, clear and luminous, and the capacity that flows from it to discern the false from the true, the futile from the essential, and to make the divine grow and bear fruit. Through the fire of Michael, the will of his veritable eternal self awakens in man. This manifests in him as a deep aspiration, often accompanied by a great nostalgia, for he understands that in the world of men, he is cut off from the divine world and from his eternal soul, and he does not yet know how to answer the call. The celebration of the fire of Archangel Michael offers the opportunity to understand the deep meaning of this inner call.
Archangel Michael offered the Essenes the science of the 4 seals of the Light. He is also the one who gave the teachings on the Usurper, on the 7 flames of the menora, with its 7 virtues and counter-virtues, on the sword and the scales...
Michaelic thought
Michaelic thought designates the living, conscious and wise thought of the man in whom has awakened the star of the new love and of the new consciousness that naturally emanates from the rose of Jupiter, the centre of the soul. Only Archangel Michael can strike down the serpent of the dead thought of the old man and thus awaken the thought of the new man; this is why the contemporary Essenes speak of “Michaelic” thought and celebrate each year the fire of Archangel Michael, at the autumn equinox. The awakening of this new thought corresponds to the opening, the beginning of the path of the Light. Rudolf Steiner, a representative of the Essene Nation, announced it as the “cement” that will make it possible to build the edifice of the new humanity.
Mischievous ones
Also called “prankster spirits”, the mischievous ones are spirits of nature and genies that man has profaned and that turn against him, take revenge by disturbing him and troubling him in multiple ways. The extraterrestrial manifestations that certain clairvoyant beings can see are examples of the “magic tricks” that these mischievous ones are capable of playing on men. Our ancestors never saw or spoke of extraterrestrials or flying saucers, for these characters and this technology had not yet been invented. Being totally dependent on man and linked to his destiny, the mischievous ones manifest to him in the guise of the era. But these beings are above all present in our daily life as well as in our sleep through everything that sows trouble, conflict, confusion, etc. in us.
Mohammed (570-632)
Mohammed was born in the Middle East, in a Nestorian community linked to the schools of mysteries of Egypt and to the Essenes of Palestine. Through his alliance with Archangel Gabriel, Mohammed received the suras of the Koran, the divine commandments for the Arab people. Thanks to the strength of will, the rigour of discipline and the aspiration to knowledge that Mohammed passed on to his faithful, Islam illuminated what then constituted the “civilized” world—all of Europe and the Middle East—for several centuries.
Moses (circa 1300 BC)
Moses was destined to become Pharaoh in order to re-establish the ancient synarchy of Rama and the government of the sons of Horus at the head of Egypt. Initiated in the temple-schools of the mysteries, he went through all the trials of the initiation of the Sons of the Sun. Traitors opposed his accession to the throne and he attempted a coup d’état that failed, which explains his flight from Egypt with all the statues of the Gods and the secret books bequeathed to the Egyptian hierophants by Hermes Thoth. Thus, the tarot of Hermes became the Torah (anagram of “tarot”) of Moses: the law and the teaching of the divine world for men. And Israel, the people of the Children of the Light, found itself as if rejected by the world; this is why it set out towards the Promised Land under the leadership of Moses. Moses himself did not enter the Promised Land. In the Essene Nation, the pillar of air carries the magical staff that is consecrated to this master.
Mother / God the Mother / Mother Earth / Earth Mother
The Mother is the divine creative principle complementary to the Father, the intelligence hidden behind all the manifestations of life: the elements, the minerals, the plants, the animals, men. This name is often used to designate living nature.
Mother of the living
This term sometimes designates the Mother and sometimes Eve.
Mouth of God
For the Essenes of all times, the “mouth of God” is not an abstract expression; it designates the word of Light, the Gospels, the good news of the divine life brought from century to century by the great masters of the Essene Nation.
Mysteries of Mithras
In these mysteries, those who went through these initiations found themselves face to face with a bull. They had to face it until it bowed before them. They performed these practices not to hurt the animal or make it suffer, but in veritable respect, until they succeeded in dominating it and putting it at their service. In doing so, they learned to place under their benevolent authority, without fear and in mastery, the animal inside themselves. Taken out of their context, these ceremonies later degenerated to give rise to the barbarity of bullfighting, whose goals are contrary to their original practice.
Name of the Mother
At the end of the initiation of the 4 bodies, the Essene receives the Name of the Mother during a particular initiation. This sacred moment corresponds to what Jesus and many other traditions have called the “second birth”, during which man receives his veritable name, that of his soul. Indeed, after being born as a man in the world of man, he must be born to the Mother, that is, to the consciousness of who he really is, of the deep and secret meaning of his incarnation. Then he must concentrate on it until its full and complete realization. This is why the Essene teaching says: “The Name of the Mother is the sentence of perfect concentration.”
Naos
Naos is a Greek term designating the part of a temple containing the statue of the God. It is the holy of holies.
Nazarites
The Nazarites is another name designating the Essenes. Wanting to erase all traces of the Essenes, the religious authorities took care to justify the use of this adjective given to Jesus by inventing the town of Nazareth. “Jesus of Nazareth” in fact meant “Jesus the Essene”.
Necklace of Gabriel
In the Essene Nation, the school of Archangel Gabriel is represented, in each Essene Village, by a circle of 12 carriers who correspond on earth to the 12 Angels, to the 12 pearls of the necklace of Gabriel. These Angels are the mother virtues that form the structure of Light of the zodiac, the divine pattern through which God created the universe, man and the earth. The role of the carriers of the necklace of Gabriel is to maintain the purity and harmony of the atmosphere, of the social climate, in other words of the “sky” of the Essene Nation. This necklace exists physically; it is placed on the statue of the Archangel, in a temple beside a sacred spring, but it is only the visible manifestation of a higher intelligence.
New man
The new man is not linked to a particular human being, nor to the “soul”, whose manifestation depends on the individual work and consciousness of man. No, the new man who is to appear through the work of the Essene Nation concerns humanity and the whole earth, in the sense that this man of Light will manifest as a common, universal and collective higher consciousness, which will be able to act independently of the Essenes. This higher consciousness will be born through the work of the Essene Nation, but will detach itself from it to act finally in the collective soul and consciousness of humanity as a new light that will bring something totally new on earth, which men have never known.
The path of the soul, for its part, cannot be climbed unconsciously, without the individual and freely consented participation of man, through a work on oneself and participation in a divine work on earth, such as the Essene Nation.
Thus, the new man will be born from the work accomplished by those who will have opened the path of the soul, but will be able to manifest as a new consciousness inside any human being, whether Essene or not, initiate or layperson.
New Passover
The new Passover was given by God to the Essenes. It is in keeping with the revelation made to Moses and to Jesus and is at the origin of the divine practice of the Round of Archangels. This new Passover raises the other Passovers to a higher level, for no animal (Jewish Passover) and no man (Christian Easter) is sacrificed. It is man himself who makes the sacrifice of what is mortal in him through a defect, so that the Light can live in his life and his life can be an offering pleasing to God.
Noah (circa 10,000 BC)
It is said that before the ancient Atlantean civilization disappeared in the flood of which the Old Testament speaks, Noah built an ark to safeguard the covenant of Light of the Essene people with all the kingdoms of existence of creation: not only the animals, the plants and the minerals, but also the Angels, the Archangels and the Gods. This ark was the school of God, the Essene Nation, whose sign of victory was given to it through a rainbow (cf. Gn. 9:13), symbol of the union of heaven and earth, of the 3 invisible kingdoms of the Father with the 3 visible kingdoms of the Mother, man standing in the middle as the mage, the unifier of the two worlds.
Numa (715-673 BC)
Little known, because he was set aside by official history, Numa is the last Essene master to have led a nation. Like almost all the great masters of the past, he was trained in the temple-schools of Egypt and passed the great initiation of the Sons of the Sun. He then quickly rose to the head of the government of Rome. He restored the sacred order of the vestals (formerly the “daughters of Isis”) and made peace and harmony reign for several decades before dying, assassinated by his jealous detractors greedy for power. It is interesting to note that at the moment the order of the vestals was dissolved, the Roman Empire collapsed.
Nutrition
“If you study the esoteric aspect of nutrition, you will be surprised to discover a powerful magic in it. Many things that befall you in life, happy or unhappy, and that apparently are not linked to nutrition, are in truth linked to it.
Your way of eating determines your life much more than you believe. Men are unfortunately unaware of these subtle laws that belong to the high divine culture and to the veritable religion of the Light.
To know how to eat is to know how to live. If you eat anything in any way, you will bring into your life what is not good for you, the bad seed, the bad influence. This way of feeding yourself will lead you to live in negative moods, spellbinding thoughts that will finally build you a chaotic destiny.
You must understand that nutrition is a fundamental, sacred, religious act that aims to build a world of harmony. Every day, you need to nourish your body, but also your inner life and your bond with your environment as well as with a divine higher world.
If you neglect the higher worlds, your inner life and your environment, in which world will you go to feed yourself? It is up to you to choose the worlds, the intelligences that will bring you the elements necessary to build your future.” (Michael 169:15-19)
Oil of Uriel
The oil of Uriel is quite simply olive oil, which, through its magical properties, has the capacity to receive and condense the Light-energy of Archangel Uriel and to convey it at any moment, once it has been consecrated by him during his presence in the temple in the course of his celebration. It is then used for the making of the balm of the Archangels, a fundamental tool of the Essene therapies. Unprocessed, it is also used to increase the concentration and the effectiveness of certain magical works and sacred rites. However, all these virtues in no way remove the necessity of being awake in the two worlds. An Essene never relies on anything outer. He can, however, use supports such as the balm of the Archangels or the oil of Uriel to activate certain forces inside him.
Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov (1900-1986)
Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov was one of the carriers of the tradition of the Sons of the Sun in the 20th century. This great master of Bulgarian origin revolutionized contemporary spirituality through his teachings on universal brotherhood, the personality and the individuality, the golden age... Through more than 4,500 lectures, he explored human nature in its environment, on the individual, family, social and planetary scale.
Order of the vestals
The order of the vestals is known historically in its manifestation in ancient Rome, under the reign of Numa Pompilius, who was a great initiate, trained in the temples of Egypt. But this order is much older; it has existed since the highest antiquity and was really and powerfully instituted for the first time by the great Isis, at the origin of the Egyptian civilization, several thousand years ago. Then this sacred order manifested in Greece, notably at Delphi, then in Rome, where it knew its final hour of glory, before being destroyed or reduced, for many centuries, to clandestinity.
The order of the vestals was instituted anew within the Essene Nation by Olivier Manitara, after the third great celebration of Archangel Gabriel, in February 2006.
Organ
Generally designates not a physical organ, but a part of the subtle organism of a being. An organ is at once a means of perceiving and a means of acting. For example, compassion is made possible when a man possesses the organ for it. The organs can be developed and strengthened through specific methods.
Orpheus (circa 1300 BC)
A contemporary of Moses—both were trained in the secrecy of the Egyptian temples—Orpheus accomplished in Greece what his companion of initiation could not accomplish in Egypt: he re-established the ancient synarchy of their common ancestor, Rama, by instituting the order of the Amphictyons, a kind of Knights Templar, guarantors of the protection of the people and of the activation of the temples. The Gods of Olympus of whom Greek mythology speaks were in fact the great initiates who lived in the Rila mountains, in Bulgaria, where Orpheus established his school of mysteries. And 3,200 years later, in this high sacred place, Master Peter Deunov resurrected the school of mysteries and the eternal tradition of the Light. He thus reactivated the divine memory that lived in these mountains, and everything that Orpheus had taught and passed on was able to rise from its ashes like the new shoot at the top of the tree of life. It is astonishing to note that these great masters were both geniuses of music—Master Peter Deunov on the violin and Orpheus on the lyre—as well as extraordinary physicians, of the body as much as of the soul and the spirit.
Owl
Through a theurgic alliance with the egregore of the Owl, the owl became the totem animal of Archangel Michael in the Essene lands of Quebec. The owl possesses the magical virtue of seeing in the two worlds, visible and invisible. This is why Olivier Manitara placed the seal of its vision on the staff intended for the magical works of the air worship.
Padmasambhava (8th century)
“Padmasambhava” means “the one who is born from the lotus”. Little known in our Western culture, this extraordinary being saved the wisdom and the tradition of the Essenes from the hold of the thieves of light. He brought back from Palestine to Tibet the sum of all the precious documents that absolutely had to remain out of reach of all the desecrators. The Tradition relates that he fought the demons to preserve the teaching of the Children of the Light. Padmasambhava is the first Tibetan Dalai Lama. He is the one who veritably instituted Tibetan Buddhism in the Himalayas, in the place now known by the name of Lhasa.
Paneurhythmy
A sacred dance of the Essene tradition that combines movements, music and text, and that is practised in nature. The dancers move forwards in couples and follow the rhythm of the melodies, created by Master Peter Deunov. The word “paneurhythmy” means “universal cosmic rhythm”. Starting from the Paneurhythmy of Peter Deunov, Olivier Manitara developed ieupaneurythmy, the art of Essene meditative movement.
Paradise
“Paradise” is an inner state of being of the man who has accomplished within him the body of God, of which the Round of Archangels is the perfect manifestation on earth in our time.
Pentacle/Pentagram
A five-pointed star. The pentagram is the symbol of man, with his 5 senses turned towards the higher worlds. When the senses of man are turned towards the earthly world and man is spellbound by the forces of this world, his pentagram is said to be inverted.
Personality and individuality
In the Essene teaching, the personality of man is considered the “beast skin”, woven by all the various influences, astrological and karmic, that determine him and orient him without his knowing it. The individuality is already the manifestation of a higher degree of consciousness, where man becomes aware of who he is, where he comes from and what he is on earth for. Thus, man must manifest his conscious and creative individuality in the two worlds, visible and invisible, so that no influence foreign to his destiny can touch him. But before the divine world, it is not for man to assert himself and to manifest himself; God alone is. This is why he must be like a virgin, like a pure and empty cup, and “there must be in this cup neither personality nor individuality” (Gabriel 144:19).
Peter Deunov (1864-1944)
Peter Deunov is a Bulgarian spiritual master who is part of the tradition of the Sons of the Sun. The foundation of his teaching is original Christianity, which he was to restore to its purity. His spiritual influence was considerable: his ideas of universal brotherhood, of the sacred in living nature, found powerful echoes among the spiritualists of the 20th century, but also in world popular culture. He taught that dance can put man in contact with the regenerating forces of the universe. He created several sacred dances, which were practised by his students in the high mountains of Bulgaria, the best known of which is the Paneurhythmy. In the course of gatherings and congresses in the mountains, he was to give more than 7,000 improvised lectures on all subjects. He was the master of Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov. In the Essene Nation, the pillar of water carries the magical staff that is consecrated to this master.
Pharaoh
Pharaoh is an impersonal incarnation of the original Word in ancient Egypt. Pharaoh, the incarnated master, represents the Father on earth from the moment he accomplishes His will in purity. The students who gather around him shape his body of manifestation on earth and become veritable human beings. Synonym of “Son of God”, of “master”.
Pharaohs Sons of the Sun (5000-2400 BC)
It was around 5000 BC that the grandiose Egyptian civilization was born, under the reign of the great pharaoh Menes. What we know today of Egypt concerns only degenerate Egypt, the one that was governed by the usurpers of Pharaoh, who, after the reign of Akhenaten, took over the government of nations. The veritable Egypt, that of the pharaohs Sons of the Sun, was a garden of paradise such as cannot be conceived today. It was another world where a divine harmony and peace reigned, where each being had its place and could freely manifest all its gifts and virtues. Men lived in a union and a respectful sharing with all the forms of existence.
Pillar
A pillar is a priest of the 4th step. The pillars of Archangels are like the 4 visible feet of the invisible body of the Light, of which the 4 Archangels are the eternal guardians. Thus, the alliance of the pillars with the Archangels has the goal of making appear in the two worlds, visible and invisible, the throne of the Eternal One of which the book of Revelation speaks. In Egypt, this throne was represented by the pyramid, as well as by the sphinx with the 4 holy animals, which are also found in the book of Revelation and which are the 4 Archangels. On this throne the divine world must sit through its incarnated representative. For this to be possible, the structure of the Essene Nation must be perfectly set up and functional, in the concrete world as well as in the spiritual worlds.
Placenta
Archangel Gabriel is the Father-Mother of childbearing and birth, for he is the placenta of life. This placenta is everywhere; it is omnipresent; it is life itself, the ocean of our Father Gabriel. Man is permanently in this placenta, this movement of energy, this sphere of living matter inside which he is formed in spite of himself. Upon this placenta act all sorts of influences that come from the cosmos, from the sphere of men or from nature. The Essene, the one who awakens his consciousness and walks on a path of Light, must know and meditate on this law of universal magic and of the placenta that allows birth and rebirth. You were born and you will be reborn. In the meantime, you are preparing the new body, whether it is of darkness or of Light.
Planets
Traditionally, 7 planets are spoken of: the Sun, the Moon, the Earth, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn. However, according to modern terminology, the Sun is considered a star and the Moon a satellite of the Earth.
Plato (427-346 BC)
Plato is part of the lineage of Orpheus and Pythagoras, whose teachings come straight from Egypt. In the image of his two ancestors, Plato re-established the school of mysteries, in a more hidden way, through the Academy, a kind of secular university in which all the Pythagorean teachings were renewed. He had a considerable influence that spread all the way to the West, notably through the great cultural movement of the Renaissance.
Prayer of the Father
The prayer of the Father is the prayer of the veritable self in all beings. This prayer is divine, for it does not “take” the Good, the Light, but offers it for the good of all, as a light that enlightens through wise thought, as a warmth that comforts through the beautiful word, as a strength that vivifies through the just act. Thus, to pray does not only mean to ask something of an invisible world through the word; the whole of life must be a prayer for the good of all beings.
Present the offering at the altar
From an esoteric point of view, “to present the offering at the altar” means to give one’s life back to God, whether at the moment of going to bed or of dying, of returning towards the origin, towards the Father. Thus, if man has not reconciled himself with all beings, in all kingdoms, and has not woven with them a conscious, living and true bond of soul, he will not be able to enter the kingdom of God.
“So then, if you are bringing your offering to the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there before the altar, go and be reconciled with your brother first, and then come back and present your offering.” (Mt. 5:23-24)
Priest, priestess, Order of Priesthood
To be an Essene is to be a priest, a priestess in the service of the divine world. The Essenes are a people and an order of priests and priestesses dedicated to the union of the two worlds of the Father and the Mother in the perfection of the covenant of Light. Through all his sacred works, accomplished with the greatest dedication and the purest love of universal life, the priest, the priestess of the people of Essenia is a living blessing for all beings.
The consecration to priesthood takes place upon entering the Round of Archangels, and the first service of the priest, of the priestess, consists in performing daily the worship of the Angel, in which he recites the words of the Gospels of the Archangels. In a higher degree of priesthood, the priest, the priestess can commit himself or herself as a parent in the Light worship.
The activities of the priests and priestesses of the Essene Nation are numerous and varied. The service of the divine can be accomplished by reading the words of the Essene Gospels, by studying the Teaching, by practising the worships to make the Light living in the ethers of the earth, by accomplishing a work for the Light, by entering the initiations, by living in an Essene Village, by taking care of the temples... All these activities are degrees of priesthood that constitute the great body of the Light, the perfect government that is being established on earth.
Principalities
Another name for the Gods.
Pyramidal structure of an ideal society
The pyramidal structure of an ideal society in which the government is in the service of the divine world has no longer existed on earth since the Egypt of the origins, before it fell at the time of Moses, who was the legitimate pharaoh. But the throne was already usurped and the government of Egypt had toppled into politics and the quest for power and world domination. Yet, originally, Egypt—and many other peoples who have disappeared today—represented the perfect government, for the priests were really the representatives of God on earth. Thus, all the spheres of human existence, the Religion, science, the economy, culture, the family, the individual, were placed in dignity, beauty, the just and harmonious life, with respect for all the creatures of the world. It is this pyramidal structure, this holy synarchy—the opposite of anarchy—that the Essene Nation is trying to restore through its alliance with the divine world, accomplished through the Round of Archangels and the Order of Priesthood.
Pythagoras (570-480 BC)
After visiting almost all the temples of the world and gathering their esoteric teachings, Pythagoras presented himself at the gates of the temples of Egypt as a master, but was left at the door for his lack of humility. He finally bowed before the supremacy of the wisdom of the Egyptian hierophants and climbed one by one all the rungs that lead to the initiation of the Sons of the Sun. While superstition had overtaken the consciousness of the Greek people, reducing the sublime teachings of Orpheus to the state of dead letters, Pythagoras re-established the school of mysteries and instituted a veritable education of man: at once spiritual, intellectual, moral and artistic. His influence extended even beyond the borders of Greece.
Rama (circa 6700 BC)
The new era that began after the great flood that put an end to the Atlantean civilization is known by the name of “prehistory”. Six thousand seven hundred years before Jesus Christ, while the druidesses dominated men reduced to slavery, a great Son of God, a missioned one of the divine world, was born in the land of Kal (which gave its name to Gaul and to Wales). He was called Rama, the ram, because of his power of realization and his unshakeable determination to restore the reign of peace and harmony. Preferring to avoid a civil war, Rama, in his great wisdom, took with him several million men and women. He led them all the way to India and restored synarchy (the opposite of anarchy, the reign of justice) in all the kingdoms through which he passed. And humanity knew a golden age that lasted more than 3,500 years.
Raphael
Raphael is the one who resurrects and animates the soul of the man who does not want to live solely for the comfort of his material or even spiritual life, but for a grandiose ideal and work that surpass his little person. Such a being becomes a blessing for several worlds, on earth as in heaven. He is a veritable therapist of the soul of humanity and of the earth. The Essenes want to live with the virtues of the Angels. This is why they celebrate and welcome each year, in spring, the breath of Raphael, which frees man from the smallness and the limitation of the physical body. Through the divine breath of Archangel Raphael, man can find again the memory of his eternal soul and remember the deep meaning of his present incarnation, his mission of Light on earth, the path of his veritable destiny. Through the breath of Raphael, the Angel carrier can rise in consciousness into the clear perception of a higher world and unite with the great thoughts, the pure ideas of the divine world. His soul then begins to breathe in another world, vast as the universe. The path of his veritable destiny opens and a deep discernment awakens in him, teaching him to sort things out in his life, so as to keep and make grow only the essential.
It is at the spring equinox, when everything is resurrected in nature, that the Essenes meet to celebrate Archangel Raphael, the one who activates the mysteries of the resurrection and the healing of humanity and nature through the divine breath of which he is the carrier. Raphael is the face of God in the air, the one who makes everything living and calls all beings to life.
Archangel Raphael offered the Essenes the green stone and the science of immortality, as well as the teachings on the Essene therapies, on the secrets of the caduceus of Hermes, on the breath, breathing, on the pyramid of Light that unites heaven and earth... He also passed on 15 commandments.
Ray-I
Essene wisdom has only one goal: to awaken God, the divine world, in man, right into the sphere of his daily life. This requires a profound awakening of consciousness and a powerful and stable bond of Light with a higher world. Essene wisdom calls this bond of Light the “ray-I” or “the veritable eternal self I-Am”. This bond of Light is a prisoner in the body of man, cut off from the higher worlds. Only a master of the Tradition can awaken through resonance what is divine in man and lead him towards his free and immortal individuality, his ray-I. When man is fully awake in his ray-I, he himself becomes a master, a carrier of the divine world on earth. The ray-I is the sacred individuality of each being, able to manifest through a mortal existence.
Recentre oneself in the middle of the pentagram
“To recentre oneself in the middle of the pentagram” means to let the 4 bodies within oneself (thought, the sphere of feelings and sensory perceptions, the will and desires, and the weight of the physical body) rest upon the Mother so that the soul appears as the fifth point of the pentagram—the one at the top—as the word of the Mother, which leads everything towards wisdom and intelligence. The soul is the fifth element, the divine quintessence of the 4 other elements.
Reconstitute the body of Osiris
In the language of the mysteries, “to reconstitute the body of Osiris” means to rebuild the body of humanity in correspondence with the eternal principles that created it. This body is always fourfold, based on the sacred science of the 4 letters of the Name of God and the structure of Light of the Round of Archangels:
- Archangel Michael is represented on earth by the Religion, through the circle of the priests and the vestals, guardians of the covenant with God, with the Father and the Mother.
- Archangel Raphael is represented by culture, through the circle of the teachers and the hierogrammates, in charge of making the light of the Teaching circulate through books, lectures, workshops, the various forms of art...
- Archangel Gabriel manifests through the social climate, by means of the circle of the therapists, of all those who work to keep the water of relationships pure and clear between all beings.
- Archangel Uriel is the culmination of the 3 preceding circles. Thus, he appears as sanctified daily life, where everything is in harmony with a higher world, in the 4 seals of Work, Health, Family and Money.
Such is the reconstituted body of Osiris—or body of Christ—that appears today through the work of the Essene Nation.
Recycling
The world of recycling is the world of the Mother. Mother Earth is not only this being who is capable of taking all negativities in order to digest them; She is also a beautiful and great light, which is the deep consciousness of all beings and the bringing forth of the wisdom that remains eternally. If you look at nature, there are two fires in it. In one of the fires, nature is beautiful, magnificent, but if you look closely, all this rests on digestion, and therefore on destruction. These two fires are inseparable from each other; they are the energy that turns the great wheel of recycling.
To be with God the Mother is not to let oneself be touched and fecundated by negativities, not to grant them importance, not to consider them excessively and above all, not to let them direct one’s life. One must hand them over to the earth, be in alliance with it and let it take care of them and settle the problem. The earth is powerful in swallowing up and digesting everything that is dark and negative.
To recycle everything within him that is not linked with the Light, with immortality, the Essene calls upon the being of Recycling, through the statue of Recycling. Thanks to this being and to this statue, recycling becomes his ally, a strength, a blessing, a liberation. See “Statue of Recycling / statue of Benevolence”.
Reintegration
This word is part of the initiatic language of Freemasonry, whose original goal is to rebuild the temple of the divine world in man and in the world through an ideal society, whose perfect model was Egypt. But this word actually goes back to the dawn of the Tradition and was passed on by Enoch, its founding father. The Book of Enoch speaks of this “reintegration” of all the creatures of the earth into the divine world through the covenant of the people of the Children of the Light with the Eternal One, with the divine world. It is the path of awakening, of redemption, of the liberation of the soul and of the ascent back towards the Father.
Religion of the Light / Essene religion / universal religion
The Religion is the bond of life that unites man with the divine world, that allows him to know himself, to weave good relationships with others and with all the kingdoms of nature. The religion of the Light, or Essene religion, belongs to no people, to no religion of the world of men; it is solely divine. It is the higher intelligence that makes it possible to guide men in wisdom and in veritable royalty.
Religion, philosophy/education, justice, economy
In ancient times, the Religion, philosophy (or education, teaching), justice (of which medicine was also a part) and the economy (protected by the caste of warriors) constituted the 4 pillars of life on earth, manifesting in the outer world the 4 bodies of man, his 4 spheres of existence:
the Religion was the guardian and the inspirer of the soul and the spirit, what nourishes the divine body, the fire body in man;
teaching was the guardian and the inspirer of thought, what nourishes the spiritual body, the air body in man, whose seat is the head;
justice was the guardian and the protector of the heart of man, what balances the auric body, the water body, where all the instincts and the creative impulses, the good as well as the bad, have their seat;
the economy was the guardian and the protector of the will and of the physical body of man, the earth body, which must be in satisfaction and contentment in order to accomplish the will of the higher worlds.
One of the goals of the contemporary Essene Nation is to restore this ancient synarchy, this celestial order, right into the earthly reality.
Resurrection of the dead
The dead are us, the men and women who live in this world and have died to the veritable life by taking on a mortal body in it. After death, no one can be resurrected, since man lives in the beyond only the consequence of what he lived on earth. Thus, the path of the resurrection of the dead must be accomplished during the earthly incarnation; this is what Jesus and all the great masters called the path of the “second birth”.
Rites of expiation
The rites of expiation are Essene rituals that make it possible to free oneself from the thoughts, the feelings, the desires linked to the spirits, the genies and the egregores that imprison the soul and lead it into slavery, and to avoid committing the acts to which they could lead us. Through the rites of expiation, man tells the invisible worlds that he wishes to use his creative power to serve the Light and to take himself back in hand, to awaken and to pay his karmic debts. The assiduous practice of the rites of expiation sets down a concrete and magical writing in the life of the one who performs them.
Rope of the Round of Archangels
The rope of the Round of Archangels is held by the Essene Angel carriers during a great ceremony taking place at each celebration of an Archangel. It is a strong symbol of their unity and of their union with the divine world, as well as a fundamental element of the Essene theurgic practice. This rope is the visible representation of the great magical chain formed by all the beings who work for the advent of the Light in all the worlds. It is with this chain of Light that Archangel Michael strikes down the dragon of dumbness and re-establishes the balance of the worlds.
Rose Cross, Christian Rosenkreutz (1378-1484)
Master Christian Rosenkreutz was born in Germany. He travelled all over the Mediterranean basin and, upon returning to Europe at the age of 35, he had assimilated the essence of the esoteric knowledge and the magical know-how of the greatest civilizations of the world. Strengthened by this universal knowledge, he formed around him the magical circle of the 12 currents of the primordial tradition of the Essenes through twelve beings predestined for this secret mission. Like Enoch, he drew the circle of the faithful guardians of the divine mysteries. Thus was born the current of the Rose Cross, which bore its visible fruits in the world, and especially in Western culture, in the centuries that followed. Through great reformers of medicine, science, religion, education such as Paracelsus, Francis Bacon, John Amos Comenius, Jacob Boehme and, closer to us, Goethe, Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin and Rudolf Steiner, the current of the Rose Cross has ceaselessly brought wisdom and life where superstition and death reigned.
Christian Rosenkreutz had concluded an alliance with Archangel Michael, who revealed to him the greatest secrets of life through the mystery of fire. Thus was born the symbol of the rose at the heart of the cross, the rose representing the fire of the beauty of God, of the mystery hidden in all the manifestations of nature.
Roses of Light
Round of Archangels
The Round of Archangels makes it possible to live in communion with an Angel and to take care of it by becoming an Angel carrier. The Angel carriers of the Round of Archangels honour the 4 Archangels through the round of the year and the 4 seasons: Michael in autumn, Gabriel in winter, Raphael in spring and Uriel in summer. This practice is part of the restoration of a contact with nature, which leads to a rediscovery of one’s own inner nature, of one’s soul, and also to a reconnection with the higher divine nature. The solstices and equinoxes are then moments of celebration and of union with the forces of nature. Within the framework of the Round of Archangels, the Angel carriers thus gather four times a year to celebrate life.
Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925)
Rudolf Steiner is a philosopher, occultist, scientist and visionary of Austrian nationality. He was able to show and reveal to the world, through his works and his results, a glimpse of the universal scope of the reform of the Rose Cross, whether in medicine, education, sociology, singing, dance, art, nutrition, etc. He is the founder of anthroposophy, a path of knowledge aimed at restoring the bond between man and the spiritual worlds, which is at the origin of projects as diverse as biodynamic agriculture, the Waldorf schools and the Weleda cosmetic products.
Sacrament
A sacrament is a religious act of consecration and blessing accomplished by a priest with the aim of placing an important moment of the life of man under the authority and in the presence of a higher world. So it is with birth through baptism, and also with marriage or death. Through the sacraments of baptism, marriage or death, man unites his life with the will and the wisdom of a higher world. In perfection, and for a sacrament to be truly operative, real, the priest who seals the act of consecration must himself be linked with this higher world through the alliance with an Angel and within the framework of a living tradition, animated by one or several living masters.
Saint Augustine
Saint Augustine is one of the founding fathers of the Church of Rome. Originally, the young Augustine was a disciple of Mani, one of the greatest Essene masters the earth has known. He venerated the great Mani to such a point that he wanted to consecrate his life to Manicheism by committing himself to the path of Initiation. But the Manichean initiation was very demanding and Augustine quickly showed signs of weakness, which is not a problem in itself. The problem is that instead of entering into humility and work on himself, Augustine turned violently against his companions of initiation. He therefore rejected Manicheism and ended up entrenching himself in a personal mystical way, where he would not be accountable to anyone. He elaborated a whole lot of spiritual and mystical theories behind which he could hide to justify his weakness and his ignorance. And still today, his irrational and mystical teaching constitutes the basis of the Catholic catechism.
Saint Augustine is also, although indirectly, at the origin of the genocide of the Cathars and of the murder of all the beings who were judged heretics in the Middle Ages; these judgements were indeed pronounced and carried out on the basis of the doctrine that he elaborated on his own authority against all heresy, in other words, against all those who would not think like the “great Augustine”.
Saint John the Baptist, the apostle and evangelist Saint John (1st century BC - 1st century AD), Jesus (0-33)
Saint John the Baptist, Jesus and Saint John, trained from their earliest age by the great master of the Essene brotherhood on Mount Horeb, are like one and the same being. Saint John the Baptist prepared all the conditions for the advent of Christ, whom he had prophesied as Elijah. At the moment when Jesus appeared “at the forefront”, as the living incarnation of Christ, Saint John the Baptist disappeared, beheaded by order of King Herod. After three years of public mission, Jesus disappeared in his turn, crucified by the people who were to welcome him and crown him king of Israel. The covenant with Christ—the master in all masters—was then entrusted to the beloved disciple Saint John, who became the new great master of the Essene people, the carrier of Christ and the guardian of his doctrine for the 2,000 years to come. Indeed, Saint John incarnated in all the initiatic currents that preserved the teaching of Christ in its original purity and wisdom. From the school of mysteries of Christ, which he resurrected and founded with the help of the Virgin Mary, was born a new river of Essene wisdom that continued through the brotherhoods of the Manicheans, the Bogomils, the Templars, the Cathars and the Rose Cross, all the way to the Essene Nation.
Satan
One must not see in this name what Christian superstition has made of it. “Satan” comes from the Egyptian name “Seth”, the personification of the desert, of death, where nothing can grow any longer. Whereas the Mother is the fertile earth, Satan is the sterile, dead earth. The Mother is recycling, and Satan is the waste that does not get recycled.
Satan is also the principle of the condensation of matter, whereas Lucifer is the principle of the expansion of matter.
School of mysteries / school of God / school of wisdom / initiatic school / school of Light
The schools of mysteries were created by the envoys of the Father, the great masters of humanity, as a clear and structured path to allow all beings to return towards their veritable and eternal self.
When humanity had fallen from the divine world, certain human beings began to ask themselves the great questions about life, death, the stars, the earth... Inside them grew the aspiration to find again the path towards the original homeland. This aspiration rose like a prayer towards the land of the Light and came to awaken compassion in the heart of the other part of humanity, the one that had not fallen from the divine world. It is from this original humanity that the great masters of all traditions were sent, those who have been called the envoys of the Father. They descended onto the earth as the answer to the prayer of their brothers and sisters who had fallen; this is the origin and the raison d’être of the schools of mysteries. They were created by the envoys of the Father as a clear and structured path to allow all the beings imprisoned in darkness to straighten themselves up and return towards their original consciousness, towards their veritable and eternal self.
Enoch drew on the earth the circle of the Light by creating the school of mysteries as the centre of the new life of a new people, the people of the Children of the Light. Into this school, into this people, were invited all the beings who, with a pure heart and intention, were ready to study the great mysteries of life and to become the servants of a higher world for the good of all beings. Enoch thus engendered a lineage of men and women guardians of the tradition and of the people of the Light on earth.
Second death
Just as the death of the physical body can be seen as a new birth, in another world, so the birth into the body of a newborn can be considered a death, for man then loses the memory of everything he lived in his soul before incarnating. The Essene tradition, and notably Saint John in his Revelation, calls “second death” this moment when man reincarnates in the body of a newborn. This death is “worse” than the first (that of the body), in the sense that man loses the memory of what he came to earth for. Aware of this mystery, the Essene sees life on earth take on its full meaning, for he understands that he must work on himself and participate consciously in the work of God on earth until he attains immortality, that is, continuity of consciousness, which delivers man from the curse of the second death.
Secret chamber
In no case does an Essene master enter the secret chamber of his student. On the other hand, when such a master prays for his students, it activates in them the presence of the inner master, of Christ, of the veritable self that awakens and begins to speak to them directly. Thus, the master outside awakens the master inside through resonance; this is the secret of the tuning fork.
Serpent
The serpent, in the language of the mysteries, designates the creative force and power that live in man, but of which he is no longer aware. This serpent is not negative in itself, for it is the same energy as the serpent of wisdom. Simply, when man “fell” from the divine world, this primordial force that animated him and united him with the Source found itself shut up in a single world: the physical body. Man, thus deprived of the purity of the divine world and of the knowledge of its sacred laws, did not know how to transmute it into the light of wisdom. This force then became blind and destructive, seeking by all means to return towards the Source. Thus were born all the vices of man, like an unleashing of uncontrolled forces, but also like a call to the awakening and the straightening up of man. The most cunning of men learned to use this energy under deceitful appearances, for their own glory, by crushing others, whereas the wisest learned to tame it so that it would become again what it is originally, a servant of the Father and the Mother.
Serpent and eagle or falcon
The Egyptians knew and mastered to perfection this ancient science of the serpent and the eagle (or the falcon), whose mysteries they had hidden in the story of the battle of the God Horus (the falcon or the eagle) against the God Seth (the serpent). Seth represented the underground forces that live in the earth and in the spiritual water, which constitute the world of unconscious, usurped men; Horus incarnated the higher forces and intelligences of the sun and the sky, of fire and air, the world of the Angels, the Archangels and the Gods. This battle takes place in each man, in each woman who wants to walk towards the Light, for man belongs to the world of Seth, to the world of the fall, and must do a whole work on himself in order to be redeemed by Horus, the world of the Light, which is also the symbol of the Angel of God. Jesus himself, initiated into these mysteries in the temples of Egypt, spoke of this sacred science of Initiation when he said: “Be cunning, wise as the serpent (Seth) and guileless, pure as the dove (Horus, the falcon, the eagle).”
Serpent of wisdom
This is what the Essenes call the great cosmic fluid, the universal soul that the Father emanated from Himself at the origin of time so that Creation would be possible and that spirit and matter could be united in perfect harmony. It is the primordial ocean of energy of the divine Mother, which bathes the worlds and leads them towards the Father through the path, the river of wisdom. It is often represented as a serpent of Light that rises behind the spinal column of all the authentic masters, for it wants to keep pure and living this sacred bond that unites the Father and the Mother. It is the guardian of the gates of the invisible world, watching permanently so that nothing human (the sphere of good and evil mixed together) can enter the higher worlds.
In the contemporary Essene Nation, several means are offered to help approach the serpent of wisdom: 1) an in-depth teaching; Olivier Manitara addressed this subject in many lectures, and the book Awaken the Serpent of Wisdom within You presents it in great detail; 2) the gymnastics of the depths and the 8 arcana of the serpent of wisdom; 3) the initiation to the serpent of wisdom, which can be done after the initiation of the 5 senses; 4) the initiation of the third step, which consists in removing the tempting serpent; 5) staffs of the serpent of wisdom made by Essene priest-craftsmen according to the rules of the art of the Tradition; 6) the fire and Light worship, which integrates the serpent of wisdom.
Shadow of God
In the secret teaching of the Essenes (which is found in the Bible and in all the other sacred texts), the masters are called the “shadow of God”. God the Father is pure light; He is at once everywhere and nowhere, in the sense that He cannot be found outside of us, in limited forms, for He is precisely the Unlimited One, the Eternal One, the Nameless One. To manifest Himself in the world, He needs a body of Light in his likeness, in his image. This is why it was said that Jesus was the body of Christ, the Word made flesh, the intelligence of God in action, manifested right into the reality of the earth and of the limited world of men. Thus, the Essene masters are the “shadow of God”, for through their magical presence, awakened men and women can have access to the light of the Father, to his cosmic intelligence. They have also been called the “door”, for through their words of wisdom, men can begin to conceive something of the divine world of the great intelligence that created the universe.
Sickness
Dysfunction of one or several bodies due to too great a separation from the Light.
Solar Angel, lunar Angel
The Angels are double. One part of them is fixed, stable, united with the kingdom of the Archangels: it is the solar Angel. The other part is more fluid, linked to the breathing of the Mother through the earth: it is the lunar Angel, which is also called the “Guardian Angel”. The lunar Angel is a guide in the magical worlds who orients man so that he finds again the path of the higher worlds. It is all that man does not remember. It is a memory greater than the mortal memory that man knows. The lunar Angel seeks to lead the earthly man and the subtle worlds within him towards an evolution that leads to giving a body to God. When the door of the higher spheres opens in man, the lunar Angel can renew contact with the solar Angel, and man becomes aware that he is a living being, conscious and linked to spheres of eternity.
On this subject, refer to the books by Olivier Manitara Messages from an Angel to His Son, Volumes 1 and 2.
Solve et coagula
Solve et coagula is a Latin expression from the secret language of the alchemists of the Middle Ages, which means: dissolve and coagulate. The solve is the divine spirit; the coagula is matter. These are the 2 great forces of life: the first goes towards an expansion and a widening, whereas the second tends towards a contraction and a fixation. In the Essene tradition, man must find the divine unity in the whole, in the universal; he must allow the spirit to accomplish itself in matter and matter to sublimate itself through the strength of the spirit. The Essene alchemist works so that his body, his coagula, becomes an instrument of the solve, of the spirit. Man can transform his body, his own matter, only by identifying himself with the living spirit that is in him.
Soma, psyche, pneuma
These 3 Greek words mean respectively “body”, “soul” and “spirit”.
The word soma is sometimes used to designate the first chakra, which is located at the level of the coccyx, the region of the sex, the pelvis, the barque of the Moon, the rose of the Moon.
Soma/hauma/ahoma/haoma
Soma, a Sanskrit term, hauma, a Persian term, ahoma (haoma), an Avestan term, designate a plant whose juice, obtained by pressing, served as a ritual beverage in Antiquity, and also the energy of life, the soul of life of the Mother of the world, which can rise like a “holy liqueur” in man when he meditates seated upon the Mother in the posture of meditation or practises certain sacred exercises. This is what the Rose Cross called the “river of the Moon”, whereas the “river of the Sun” entered through the top of the head, through the crown chakra, the rose of Saturn.
Son / only Son of the Father
Complementary principle of the Father and the Mother, incarnated by a master. The Son is the Tradition, the subtle body allowing the Light to descend onto the earth. He is the man of Light, the I-Am, the veritable eternal self, the sacred individuality of each being, able to manifest through a mortal existence, which is called the “Daughter”.
Son of God, Daughter of God / Son of the Sun, Daughter of the Sun / Son of the Light, Daughter of the Light
The Essenes are the guardians of the universal tradition. This is why they do not separate the traditions and do not place one master above another or in opposition to another. Thus, through Enoch, Krishna, Isis, Zoroaster, Moses, Buddha or Jesus, the Essenes contemplate and welcome the manifestation of the single light of the Father and the Mother that the Christians call “Christ” or “only Son of God”. All these masters, these Sons of the Light or Sons of the Sun, together form the royal lineage of the only Son of God.
The terms “Son/Daughter of God” and “Son/Daughter of the Light” are sometimes used in the sense of “Child of the Light”, that is, of “Essene” in general, and sometimes in the sense of “envoy of the Father”.
“Son/Daughter of the Sun” can also be applied to any Essene, in a general sense. When it concerns a master, it means that he has successfully passed a specific initiation.
Sons of Abel, sons of Cain
It is said that Eve united with Satan, the son of the earth, and that she gave birth to Cain, whereas Adam united with Lucifer, the son of heaven, and begot Abel. Cain was a creator, like the Father: where the Eternal One created something, he re-created the same thing. He was the principle of Creation. Abel, for his part, was the principle of the offering to the Father. He was an idealist, a religious man, and he wanted to serve his Father. These were two distinct humanities.
Cain is the satanic aspect, the side of evil. The lineage of Cain is the scientific, materialistic side, the one that consists in looking at the world objectively, concretely, in studying the laws. Abel is the luciferic aspect, the side of good. When you are in this humanity, you are a positive, enthusiastic, dynamic being; you believe in the good. The lineage of Abel is the subjective side, religion, the inner life, feelings, the heart. In the current world, the sons of Abel are found among the religious, the idealists, the artists, the spiritualists, whereas the materialists, the scientists, the concrete and creative beings are found in the lineage of Cain.
On this subject, refer to the book by Olivier Manitara The Way of Illumination.
Soul
In incarnating, the soul of man, which is universal and comes from the divine world, divided itself into two parts: one part of the soul remained in the world of the Light, whereas another descended into the world of matter to animate the body and enable man to have experiences until he finds again the path of union with his “soul mate”, that is, his complementary part, which was never born and never died. There is therefore a soul on its way and an eternal soul. The goal of Initiation is precisely to educate the soul on its way—the part that was cut off from the divine world—to enable it to renew the dialogue with its original and eternal soul, which is its only and veritable “soul mate”.
Soul-group
Every living being—mineral, plant, animal or human—that is not endowed with a conscious and intelligent thought constitutes, with all its fellow beings, a soul-group, a collective, non-individualized body and intelligence. The majority of human beings are part of soul-groups dependent on the collective intelligence, on the egregore that directs them and that they have engendered. There is, for example, the soul-group of the Catholics, that of the Buddhists, that of the communists, that of the materialists, that of the fans of this or that world star. All the beings who are part of these soul-groups do not really think by themselves; they are thought and lived by higher intelligences whose existence they do not even suspect.
Spell (envoultement/envoûtement)
The French word envoûtement (spell) comes from the Old French envoultement, which itself comes from voult, which means “circle”. It was much used in the magical grimoires of the Middle Ages. Thus, the word envoûtement expresses the idea of a circle of influence that a man or an invisible intelligence places around a being in order to influence him for a very precise purpose, for good or for evil.
The principle of the spell is the possession of the 5 senses via the water body. The one who casts the spell takes hold in one way or another of the ascendancy of the water body in order to orient it. He thus produces a magical slavery by putting dream images into the water body. These active images become obsessive, taking control of the earth body through the networks of nerves and subtle channels that govern thoughts, feelings, the will, the blood, perceptions and moods. They also take possession of the universal being of man that travels at night, by controlling the dream images and the encounters he will have. Man then becomes a puppet, the tool of an occult world, and he no longer controls anything. Sometimes, in extreme cases, he is no longer himself, being entirely possessed by another world.
Spirits / spirits of nature / spirits of the elements / spirits of life
In the Essene vision of the world, every act or activity accomplished by man is animated by spirits, forces of nature. According to his level of consciousness, man calls, through everything he does, luminous spirits, bringing life, or sick spirits, conveying death. The spirits of life, also called “spirits of nature” or “spirits of the elements”, are the messengers of Mother Earth who act as a sacred consciousness through the 4 elements, in man and in nature.
The gnomes are the spirits of earth. They form the consciousness of earth. They are also the guardians of the intelligence and the soul of the mineral kingdom. They live essentially under the earth, in the world of the roots of the plant kingdom, working tirelessly to maintain the stability and the structures of the mineral kingdom that carries us.
The undines are the spirits of water. They form the consciousness of water. They are also the guardians of the intelligence and the soul of the plant kingdom. They live essentially in an aquatic environment. They are the ones who allow the process of the flowering of plants and trees, which cannot take place without the presence and the action of the element water.
The sylphs are the spirits of air. They form the consciousness of air. They are also the guardians of the intelligence and the soul of the animal kingdom. They live essentially in the heights, at the tops of trees or in the clouds. They are the ones who give plants their colours, their fragrances and their virtues.
The salamanders are the spirits of fire. They form the consciousness of fire. They are also the guardians of the intelligence and the soul of the human kingdom. They can be seen at work through the bees and the butterflies. They ensure the transmission of the essence of beings through the complex processes of the generation of species, whatever they may be.
In man, these spirits of nature have been bewitched by his dumbness, his ignorance and his pride in being superior to all the other kingdoms of nature, instead of associating himself with them in mutual support and a common ascension towards the higher worlds of the Father.
Spiritual world / world of the shadow
The spiritual world is made up of the spiritual entities that are at the origin of the thoughts, the feelings and the desires of men. This world can also be called the “world of the shadow”, for it hides the light of the divine world and prevents it from touching man so that he may take his life in hand and break the chains of slavery to this false and destructive spiritual world. In this world live entities, intelligences that are beyond our understanding.
Staffs of the Archangels
On earth, the 4 Archangels are carried by the pillars of Archangels, who are priests of the 4th step, consecrated to the worship and the incarnation of the divine world through the 4 elements. In order to be protected and supported in their sacred function, which is very difficult to carry within the current world, the pillars of Archangels link themselves with the magical force of 4 staffs consecrated to 4 masters of the Tradition who have accepted to support the alliance with the Archangels in the subtle worlds.
Zoroaster supports the alliance with Archangel Michael.
Moses supports the alliance with Archangel Raphael.
Peter Deunov supports the alliance with Archangel Gabriel.
Mani supports the alliance with Archangel Uriel.
These staffs are not instruments intended for a personal spiritual practice, but they are really the supports of manifestation and action of these 4 great masters. These masters have associated themselves with the Essene Nation in the subtle worlds in order to accomplish the work of the Light on earth.
Stars
According to Essene wisdom, traces of which are found in all the traditions of the peoples, the stars of our solar system are at the origin of all the physical, psychic and spiritual faculties of man and are linked to him. Thus, the planet Mars, which man can see outside himself, lives inside him through his capacity to create by his acts and his word; the senses and everything that is linked to the activity of the senses, such as happiness, pleasure, the contemplation of beauty and of art in all its forms, come from the planet Venus; the planet Jupiter confers the strength of generosity, of royalty, of nobility, of greatness of soul on the one who is in harmony with it, etc. But if man does not know these influences or uses them deliberately for obscure purposes, they will not be balanced and will end up turning against him. This is why astrology must be put in the service of the Other, that is, of God within oneself and in the other. Then these influences can take on their true dimension and lead man and the universe towards the Gods.
Statue of Gabriel
To celebrate Archangel Gabriel, the Essenes place his statue at the centre of a fountain set up in his temple. Each celebration lasts four days, during which the Essenes meditate, pray and read psalms passed on by the Archangel. At the end of this work, the statue is placed again at the outlet of a spring of pure water around which a permanent temple is built that anchors the divine presence on earth. Such temples are found in the Essene Villages. The water blessed by the Archangel and imbued with his divine energy joins the rivers, then the ocean, thus touching all the waters of the world.
Statue of Recycling / statue of Benevolence / statue of Recycling and Benevolence
The statue of Recycling serves to rid oneself of one’s defects and to recycle them. Its function is to take into itself everything that is imperfect, the mortal, and to lead it towards transformation. Everything that does not pass through death must be put into this statue. It is also called the “statue of Benevolence”, for it protects us and awakens us. What we put inside this statue, we must lead in benevolence to awaken the forces of good, of love, of the balance of the worlds.
On this subject, refer to the book by Olivier Manitara The Light Worship.
Statue of the Light
The statue of the Light appeared through the work of the psalms of the Archangels. It represents the immortal being of the Light, the universal androgynous Son-Daughter, the divine man. It is God Himself who manifests Himself on earth. Each Essene who commits himself as a parent in the Light worship, on the path of immortality, receives 2 little statues of the Light, which are the materialization of his double: one of them is placed in the temple of the Light, around the great statue of the Light, and the other at his home, in his personal temple, where he performs the work of reciting the psalms.
To learn more about this statue, refer to the book by Olivier Manitara The Light Worship.
Steps of Initiation
See “Essene initiation / Initiation”.
Study
For the Essenes, study is not only an effort and a concentration of the organ of the intellect on a defined object; it is a sacred rite, an ancestral magical know-how through which the student vivifies his thought through certain words and certain movements that allow the object studied to be perceived in a much more intense and living way than through the sole use of the intellect. In their daily practice, the Essenes study, for example, the psalms of the Archangels by incanting them, by speaking them aloud as an offering for their soul and the higher worlds. Through this magical art, the Essene refines the organ of his thought until he makes it capable of becoming one with the object of study. Such is the perfection of study.
Study, devotion, rite, work
Study, devotion, the celebration of rites and the accomplishment of the work constitute the 4 fundamental pillars of the Essene teaching. The awakening of man goes through the study of the knowledge that enlightens, devotion to universal wisdom, the practice of the rituals that link with the Tradition, and the impersonal accomplishment of a work of Light, as the tool of a higher world. Study is done with the books and other documents offered by the Essene Library. The celebration of rites is done daily through the worships of the Angel and of the divine word, as well as in the massalas, where it is possible to practise the rituals in a group. Devotion develops through study and worship. The accomplishment of the work goes through study, devotion, rites and the Essene initiations, which allow the initiate to renew contact with his soul and to manifest on earth the light of the higher worlds.
Sun worship
The Essenes, the initiates and the sages in all the traditions of the peoples are not worshippers of the outer sun and absolutely do not make it an idol. Through its form and its radiance, they see and contemplate what is beyond forms and gives a soul, an intelligence, to all the forms of life. The Essenes who founded the Egyptian civilization called the sun “Amon”, which means the “Hidden One”. They therefore did not venerate the outer form of the sun, but what it represents, that is, God, the Unnameable, the Nameless One, the Unmanifested One, who manifests Himself most perfectly in our world through the sun.
Supreme Council, SC
The government, the directing intelligence of the Essene Nation.
Tara
The Tibetan Buddhist Goddess Tara, with great courage and great determination, reached God by climbing a high mountain. At the summit, she had a revelation and associated herself with the eternal snows. She became these eternal snows in the worlds of the beyond, and by discovering God in the white purity of these snows, she remained up there. Even when she came back down from the mountain, she never really came back down into the world of men. She continued to live with her physical body, but nothing touched her any longer; she had become immortal. She had associated herself in the physical world with a divine principle and a divine writing: the eternal snows.
Teaching
The Teaching is the universal wisdom, the divine word, passed on by the envoys of the Father. Whether it comes from the Buddha, from Lao Tzu, from Jesus, from Mani or from Mohammed, there is in fact only one Teaching, a single and universal truth. The study of the Teaching must be an impersonal work, accomplished to make thoughts of wisdom live in the whole world, to make the pure egregore of the Teaching grow on earth.
The 4 fundamental pillars of the Essene teaching are study, devotion, the practice of rites and the accomplishment of the work. Through these 4 activities, the student must make himself a body of the Teaching and succeed in structuring his life to walk towards a world of Light.
In the Essene Nation, the Teaching is safeguarded and passed on through the Essene Library. For information, visit the website www.Bibliotheque.Esseniens.org.
Templars (1118-1312)
The Order of the Temple was created to defend the pilgrims who travelled to Jerusalem. The Knights of the Temple brought back to Europe much knowledge from the Arab civilization and quickly became the main financiers and master builders of the Middle Ages. Their ultimate goal being the creation of a new civilization free from fear and dogmas, the Templars secretly sent their fleet towards the Americas, where all the conditions seemed to be met for this grandiose project, since they had established respectful relations with the natives through fair trade and cultural and esoteric exchanges. The king of France, Philip the Fair, warned of these plans by a traitor, ordered their arrest. Only a few succeeded in escaping. The others died under torture or burned alive. In 1312, Pope Clement V ordered the dissolution of the Order of the Temple, following a trial for heresy.
Temple
The temple is first inside the Essene: it is Initiation. Through Initiation, a space is created that becomes sacred in man. It is the place of study, of work on oneself and of the service of the Light. This space then extends outwards so that the Essene can strengthen himself and share, at different levels: the temple at home, the massala, the Essene Village. It is a science passed on by Archangel Gabriel to his people. The temple is the place consecrated to the bringing together of the visible kingdoms and the invisible divine kingdoms. The word also often designates the temple consecrated to an Archangel during his celebration.
Temple of Gabriel
In all the Essene Villages, a temple is built for Archangel Gabriel, dedicated to the celebration of his mysteries. This sacred temple is systematically built around a spring. Thus, this water becomes the carrier of the divine energy and strength of Gabriel. It then becomes a source of healing and of many virtues. This temple anchors the divine presence on earth. The water blessed by the Archangel and imbued with his divine energy joins the rivers, then the ocean, thus touching all the waters of the world. The permanent temples of Archangel Gabriel are open to the pilgrimage of all those who are sincere and respectful. There, they can enter his aura of Light and wisdom and receive his blessing of love and Light.
Tempting serpent / destroying serpent
The tempting serpent designates the destructive force that lives in man. It is not negative in itself, for it is the same energy, the same force as the serpent of wisdom. Simply, when man “fell” from the divine world, this primordial force that animated him and united him with the Source found itself shut up in a single world: the physical body of man. Man, deprived of the purity of the divine world and of the knowledge of its sacred laws, did not know how to transmute this force into the light of wisdom. This force then became blind and destructive, seeking by all means to return towards the Source. Thus were born all the vices of man, like an unleashing of uncontrolled forces. Only the most cunning of men learned to use it under deceitful appearances for their own glory, by crushing others. This is why it is described as “tempting” or “destroying”.
Theurgy
Theurgy is the art of bringing forth the Gods right into the reality of the earth, through the celebration of the divine mysteries. In a distant past, these mysteries were celebrated through the staging of sacred writings and symbols that were the materialization of cosmic intelligences and forces surpassing all human understanding. By concentrating on these divine writings and activating them through certain sacred movements, dances, songs and words, the initiates called and succeeded in incarnating Divinities.
Thoth
The God Thoth, known by the name of Taouti among the Egyptians, of Hermes among the Greeks and of Raphael among the Essenes, is the God of knowledge and of writing.
Tradition / Essene tradition / tradition of the Sons of the Sun / tradition of the Light / primordial tradition / tradition of wisdom
The Essene tradition goes back to Enoch, its founding father. It is said of Enoch that he was the first man to straighten himself up from the fall and to re-establish the covenant with the higher worlds of the Father, thus opening a path of liberation for all the kingdoms of the Mother. The Essene tradition was born from the covenant of this extraordinary being, then of an entire people, with the divine world, several tens of thousands of years ago, when humanity had fallen from this original world. It has perpetuated itself in an unbroken way, passing from master to master, bringing the light of wisdom to all peoples.
The Essene tradition is also called the “primordial tradition”, for it is the one that engendered all the great civilizations and all the great spiritual currents that have brought the world everything that is beautiful, true and sacred. It is through its unbroken covenant with the divine world, through its representatives, that the Essene tradition was able to radiate the Light in all the traditions of the peoples, bringing essential knowledge to a lost humanity.
The Tradition is the subtle body allowing the Light to incarnate in the kingdom of men. It is honoured and regenerated by the teaching of an incarnated master. If his successor has no alliance with the divine world, the body that the Tradition took on to manifest itself crystallizes and dies, then turning into superstitious practice or religious intolerance.
Trinity
Essene wisdom has always spoken of a threefold revelation of God. All the traditions of the peoples have their trinity, often in the form: Father, Mother and Son, or else the divine world, the universe and man, or love, wisdom and truth, the fruit that appears from the union of the Father and the Mother. Essene wisdom teaches that this divine trinity is present in man through his 3 centres of consciousness: thought in the head, feeling in the heart and the will in the belly. These centres of intelligence are like 3 doors for the Light in man. The Essenes learn how to open and close these doors through 3 sacred activities: meditation to structure and awaken thought; the magical word and sacred song for the heart; meditative movements and dance for the will.
According to Essene wisdom, from which Christianity, having abandoned esotericism, partly inherited, God is unity in the absolute, in the unmanifested. But on earth, He cannot do otherwise than appear as a tri-unity, which the Christians called the “Holy Trinity”: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. To be well understood, this trinity must above all not be an abstract, exoteric belief, but must be as concrete, real and palpable as the bread we eat.
Thus, for the Essenes, the Father manifests on earth through the master, the representative of his Tradition, the envoy of the Light in the living present. The Son designates the “word that comes out of the mouth of God” (cf. Mt. 4:4), that is, the divine teaching passed on by the envoy to the community of the Children of the Light. Finally, the Holy Spirit is the higher and eternal Intelligence of God that animates the words of the Teaching and stands hidden behind them like the spirit of God Himself speaking inside the man who really understands the Teaching through putting it into practice. In perfection, the Holy Spirit appears as the common higher intelligence that is born from the union of all the points of view of the circle of the congregation to enlighten the whole world.
In the Essene and universal vision of the Trinity—the tri-unity of God—the vehicle of the Father is the representative of his tradition on earth, the incarnated master; the vehicle of the Son or of the Holy Spirit is the teaching of the Father; and the vehicle of the Mother is the community of the disciples who gather around the Teaching and its spokesman. Buddha, a great Essene master, called this Trinity: the Buddha (the master), the Dharma (the Teaching) and the sangha (the community). This Essene vision of the Trinity is also found in Egypt with Osiris (the Father), Isis (the Mother, the Tradition) and Horus (the Son, the envoy of the Father and the living body of the Tradition).
Turtle
In the Essene tradition, the turtle is one of the animals that represent God the Mother hidden beyond the forms of the earth.
Two earths
In ancient Egypt, Pharaoh was called “prince of the two earths”, that is, the one who masters the two worlds, visible and invisible, heaven and earth, heaven being able to be considered as a more subtle earth, for it is a kingdom populated with beings and intelligences that Essene wisdom calls “spirits”, “genies” and “egregores”.
Uncultivated
In the “mouth” of an Archangel, “uncultivated” does not have the pejorative meaning we give it, that is, that of a being who has not been educated in the conventional culture and morality of men. For a higher world, this outer culture and morality have no value and are only appearances, masks. For an Archangel, “uncultivated” therefore quite simply means not educated in Essene wisdom, in an eternal and true teaching that belongs to no man, but to the divine world.
Universal brotherhood / great brotherhood
See “Covenant / covenant of Light”.
Uriel
In man, Uriel is linked to the feet and to the entire physical body. He is the concretization and the realization in acts of the thought and the will of the divine world. He is the perfection of perfections, the fourth letter of the Name of God, the throne of the king of kings, the body of Christ. He is a light of cohesion that comes to inhabit everything that is perfectly structured and organized to make the divine world live right into the earthly reality. In ancient Egypt, Uriel was called the “ka” of Pharaoh, that is, the divine energy united with all the higher hierarchies that descended into a man prepared for it and whose sole purpose was to bring prosperity, abundance and harmony to the whole people. The expression “body of Christ” is the literal translation of “ka of Pharaoh”, “ka” meaning “body”, and “Pharaoh”, “anointed”, “blessed”, that is, “Christ”.
The summer solstice is the absolute victory of light over the darkness of the night. It is at this moment that the Essenes gather to celebrate Archangel Uriel, who comes to unite man with all the kingdoms of nature and of the divine world in a covenant of Light, in a cosmic feast. It is the feast of the earth, which reveals all the wonders it contains in its soul and its perfect intelligence.
Archangel Uriel offered the Essenes the 7 fundamental rules and the 8 rules of Uriel, as well as the teachings on the silver plate, on magical writing, on the body of Light and the earth of Light, the earth of Uriel, on solve and coagula, on the 3 lineages of Cain, Abel and Enoch, on androgyny, on the 7 stages of life...
Usurpation
This notion of usurpation is a key to the Essene philosophy. There is an authentic life and there is a destiny that can be usurped. The usurped one falls under the cunning hold of a lying intelligence that steals everything from him, diverts him from his goal, from his mission, exploits him and leads him into voidness, reducing him to slavery. Each soul, whether mineral, plant, animal or human, has a destiny. To divert a soul from its function, from its gift, is to degrade it, to distort it, to make it weak in order to take hold of it and debase it. This is the work of the one whom the Essenes, following Archangel Michael, call the “Usurper”. Each soul encounters this being on its path as a trial, a choice, an opportunity for awakening. Essene wisdom is a means of preparing oneself for this trial so that, when the moment comes, the right choices are possible.
The term “right choice” must not be equated with a notion of morality. A right choice is quite simply to have the choice; a wrong choice is to be in an illusion of choice. If a man has the choice between keeping his integrity or being usurped, if he is informed, then it is the right choice. If he does not know that there is a possibility of being usurped, then it is a wrong choice, for there is no longer any choice; everything is false; it is a decoy, a lie, an illusion.
Usurper
“Usurper” is the name given by Archangel Michael to the being who created the world of man with the hidden—but increasingly unveiled—aim of enslaving all the kingdoms of nature, including man, in order to take the place of God and prevent Him from manifesting Himself. The Usurper is the one who usurps, that is, who takes the place of the divine in man and creates a whole world, even a spiritual one, so that man remains passive and does not take his destiny and that of the earth in hand. The Usurper is the master and the father of a whole hierarchy of non-divine intelligences that fight against the divine world and its advent in human consciousnesses. Lucifer and Satan, for example, are fallen archangels in the service of the Usurper.
Veritable eternal self
The teaching of the Light in all traditions has always shown man as a double being, as the carrier of 2 natures that oppose each other, but whose goal is to be reconciled and to work together to make a higher world appear on earth. There is therefore inside man a lower, mortal nature and a higher and immortal nature. There is the false self, the outer me of man, formed by his personality and the hereditary, social and cultural influences of the world in which he incarnates, and, buried in the deepest part of him, there is the veritable eternal self, the divine core that slumbers in every man coming into this world. The mission of man therefore consists not in rejecting and condemning his lower nature, but in domesticating it, in mastering it until it is entirely in the service of the veritable self. The man who succeeds in thus manifesting his veritable self right into his outer life receives the power and the capacity to awaken it in all the beings around him. These men have been called “masters”, not because they master others, but because they know how to guide them towards the veritable self within them and in all beings.
Vestal
An Essene woman consecrated to one of the 4 Archangels. In the Essene Nation are found earth vestals, water vestals, air vestals and fire vestals, who each have a role to play within the Order of Priesthood.
Virgin
In the esoteric sense, the word “virgin” has nothing to do with sex or with human conceptions; it corresponds to the world of the soul and therefore of the immaculate conception. This word can be used for a man as well as for a woman, for the soul has no sex; it is not in polarity, in the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The bringing forth of the soul is the light of God in man, and its fruit is the healing of the world of man. Man is then delivered from the tempting serpent, from doubt and from the illusion that pushes him to believe that he is his physical body and the me born of this body. Thus, he becomes a virgin, that is, open to the light of the divine principle that animates him.
Virginal conception, virgin birth of Jesus
The virginal conception and the virgin birth of Jesus are beliefs common to Christians and Muslims, even if not all of them interpret them literally. The Orthodox and the Catholics add to them the perpetual virginity of Mary, which is not retained by certain Eastern churches and by the Protestants. (Source: Wikipedia)
The mystery of the Virgin and of the birth of Jesus has often left us perplexed and filled with reductive images that did not honour the greatness of this divine realization or the truth of Mary. Men have put poor and limited conceptions into her virginity. Her virginity has nothing to do with sex, but speaks of a great purity of the soul in its relations with the divine. It is the accomplishment of the sacred law of a soul that, during several lives, worked to accomplish the divine birth. By bringing the body of Jesus into the world, Mary allowed the divine consciousness to enter a body, to transform life on earth and the destiny of humanity.
Volatile
The adjective “volatile” is used to describe a being in whom beautiful ideas or good feelings tend to take up a disproportionate place in relation to contact with matter and to action. In the eyes of the divine world, such a being is “vaporous”, he “evaporates”, and, at the extreme, he does not exist. “The earth keeps you in a world so that you do not evaporate, but so that you can keep a body in order to manifest through it the virtues of the Gods, the Archangels and the Angels, such as I have mentioned them to you.” (Raphael 196:25)
Water of Gabriel
The water of Gabriel is the water of eternity, the water of the Sun and of the divine life, whereas the water on earth is the water of the Moon. Jesus said, speaking of these two waters: “Whoever drinks this water will be thirsty again; but no one who drinks the water that I shall give will ever be thirsty again: the water that I shall give will become a spring of water within, welling up for eternal life.” (Jn. 4:13-14)
The Essene Nation reopened the door of water by setting down the seal of Family. The door of water is the first impulse of Creation, and it can be the first awakening for man, for it is through water that he can remember life.
Archangel Gabriel established an alliance with the Essene Nation. If the Essenes accomplish the work asked of them, to give a body to God on earth, Gabriel will be able to flow and touch the earth to quench the thirst of all the worlds: men, the animals, the plants, the minerals, the Mother.
The divine world has associated itself with the Essene people in order to make the water of eternity flow again over the whole earth. If the water of Gabriel does not flow, if the spring is not fed, it will be extinction: the civilization of men will continue to live for some time still, but it will dry up and die. There will still be physical water, of course, but there will no longer be the soul of water.
Saint John the Baptist, who was the incarnation of the Essene Nation in his time, made the water of Gabriel flow and offered it to the world. He wanted, through the Essene baptism, to free men from the zodiac of the Usurper. He wanted to purify them and to open in them the perception of the soul, of a much greater and much vaster life. This purification and this opening to the soul are still possible in our time for the one who commits himself to a path of awakening and of study of the worlds and influences that surround him. The man who wants to awaken must know exactly who he is, to which world he belongs, under which circle of influences he is placed and towards which future his steps are directing him. Then he can go back up the path of the stars.
On the physical plane, the water of Gabriel is water consecrated by the presence of the Archangel in his temple or drawn from one of his sites. It is available in the Essene Villages.
“What is above is like what is below...”
Hermes Thoth, the great founder of the Egyptian civilization, who was also a messenger, an envoy of Archangel Raphael, had said: “What is below is like what is above, and what is above is like what is below, for the accomplishment of the wonders of the one thing.” He was thus speaking of the splendour of this kingdom of original Egypt, which had accomplished the miracle of building a world and a civilization that were a perfect reflection of the divine world right into the reality of the earth. But Egypt, over the centuries, ended up falling, and what was below—the world of men—was no longer like what is above—the divine world. Jesus, aware of all this as a Son of the Sun and heir to the great wisdom of the Egypt of the first pharaohs, reveals to us this truth of the fall of humanity through his prayer of the Our Father when he says: “Father, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.” (Mt. 6:10) These two sayings of Jesus and of Hermes Thoth complete each other and want to tell us that the visible world that we can perceive with our 5 senses is only the reflection of another, invisible world and of a divine intelligence. But if man cuts himself off from this truth and no longer sees the divine wisdom and intelligence through the great book of nature, he loses control of his destiny and becomes in spite of himself the craftsman of a world that no longer leads humanity and the earth towards the Light, but towards the darkness of unconsciousness. The mission of the Essene Nation can be compared to that of the Egypt of the origins: to rebuild the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven, to re-establish the covenant of Light of the Father and the Mother through the 7 kingdoms of creation.
Wheat and grape juice
The celebration of the divine mysteries, of the alliance of the worlds through wheat and grapes, is absolutely not specific to the Christian liturgy. Already in ancient Egypt, these mysteries were celebrated. The initiates had to eat the body of Osiris (the body of Christ), that is, the words of wisdom in the form of bread; and they had to drink at the source of all life and intelligence (the blood of Christ or of Osiris) in the form of grape juice. Wheat and grapes were at all times recognized as the manifestation of the Father (the grape juice) and of the Mother (the wheat) and the supreme revelation of the greatest mysteries.
White robe of the Essenes
The white robe of the Essenes symbolizes the garment of Light, light and pure, worn by those who take care of the Covenant in purity and truth.
White, white garment, white alb
White has at all times been worn by beings seeking to attain purity, mastery, union with a sacred world. For activities such as prayer, meditation, rituals, the members of the Round of Archangels dress in white. Some have a white alb.
Winged
Applied to an Angel, the term “winged” does not necessarily designate a physical, outer aspect, as one would tend to imagine. It is an image meaning that the Angels are not subject to the same laws as men, but that they come from a higher, celestial, pure, divine world where only subtlety, harmony, peace, wisdom, greatness of soul reign...
Woman
In esoteric language, all human beings, of the male or female sex, are considered women, for they let themselves be fecundated by the subtle worlds and bring their children into the world.
Word / universal Word / divine Word / Word of the origins / creative Word / Word of the Light
When God wanted to create the universe, He came out of his rest and imprinted his image in this universal substance. This image is the first manifestation of the being that exteriorizes itself to create; it is the affirmation of being and of life: I-Am. This I-Am, living in the universal substance and containing within itself the source of the all-possible, spoke the first creative affirmation: “I am the Light of the world.” (cf. Jn. 8:12) Then was born the intelligence-wisdom, the Word, Christ, the man of Light. The incarnation of the living Word or of Christ in man is analogous to the realization of the philosopher’s stone.
“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” (Jn. 1:1) This first verse of the Gospel according to Saint John corresponds to thought in man. Indeed, thought is the manifestation of the universal Word in man and, moreover, in Greek, the Word is called logos, which can be translated as “intelligence” and which serves as the root of the word “logic”. In this verse, Saint John indicates that man possesses in his thought the means of uniting with the cosmic intelligence that organized the living universe. Man must raise his thought, his imagination towards the divine world in order to receive from it direct inspiration.
“All things came into being through him and without him nothing came into being.” This third verse of the Gospel is related to the feelings in man. It is by means of feeling that thought can accomplish itself in matter. Man must not be content to remain in the world of thought but must incarnate the Word in matter in order to elaborate the philosophers’ stone.
“What came into being in him was life and the life is the light of men.” (Jn. 1:4) This fourth verse of the Gospel is related to the will, to movement in man. The creative act results from the union of thought and feeling, which engenders the accomplishing movement. At this degree of realization, man becomes aware of the Light in relation to his own capacity for Light. As he can produce works of Light, he says: “I am the Light of the world”, which was the Name of the Mother of Master Jesus.
All the great masters are the incarnation of the Tradition. This is why it was said that the Word was made flesh and lived among men in the world of death. (cf. Jn. 1:14) This Word of the origins is the first word; it is the intelligence that instructed Enoch and allowed him to open the path of resurrection and of life after the fall. This word that was living in Enoch was now living again in Jesus. Then it was living in Mary, in Mani, in Peter Deunov...
Work
Every living being is the carrier of a particular mission within the great organism of the earth and the universe. This mission, this function is universal and collective for the animals, the plants and the minerals. With man appears a process of individualization, which must be accompanied by a growing awakening of consciousness to reach its realization. This process is not automatic, but initiatic and progressive: man must build himself another body, a barque that will allow him to reach the other shore, that of his soul and his veritable destiny. To find its deep meaning again, man must receive the Name of the Mother, which is his mission for this incarnation, and concentrate on it until its full realization. The realization of the Name of the Mother is linked to the accomplishment of the work. Doing a work for your soul allows you to build your future body. The accomplishment of the work is the Light manifested on earth, on the physical plane.
World of death
World of the physical body that is not animated by the immortal soul. World of the men who are not linked with the divine, with universal life.
World of man / world of men / human world
World of the daily life of men, who are often separated from their divine origin, from the original harmony of the 7 kingdoms.
World of the night / world of the Moon
The hidden, subtle side of life, what is not seen. The solar side, the daytime side, is what is perceived with the physical senses, whereas the lunar side, the nighttime side, is what can be perceived only with the subtle senses. In the world of the Sun, the world of the day, you see the assembling of the 4 elements, you see what is, the manifested. When you enter the world of the night, into the vision of the Moon, night vision, you see the spirit and the genie that are behind the element, you perceive the intention behind the word, behind the gesture, the animating and formative force. You see the impulse, the movement, what is hidden behind and makes one speak, move... Man must try to awaken in these two worlds.
World of water / auric world
The auric world is this invisible world all around us and inside us, in which thoughts, moods, desires live. It is the world of water to which the ancient mysteries refer when they speak of “crossing the waters” or of being “saved from the waters”, as Moses was.
Also called “auric water” or “aura”, this water is a subtle matter, formed and inhabited by all the thoughts, all the feelings and desires that live around man and animate his earth body, his physical body. This world of water is the “astral world” of which many occultists of the 19th century spoke, as well as the alchemists of the Middle Ages. It is also the “beyond” of the spiritualists, in which they encounter after their death the images and ideas they formed of God during their earthly life. When they lose their physical body, men find themselves projected into the world of water, where they encounter, as living beings, all the thoughts, all the feelings and desires they had nourished more or less consciously during their earthly life.
Worlds
We can speak of 2 worlds, of 3 worlds or of 4 worlds. When the Teaching speaks of the 2 worlds, it means the divine world and the world of man, or else the visible world and the invisible world, which constitute the world of man, independently of the divine world. What is called the invisible world can itself be broken down into 3 aspects: auric, spiritual and divine, the auric and the spiritual forming the two aspects of the invisible world of man, and the divine being what is beyond man and is eternal, living independently of man.
Worlds / the 4 worlds
The 4 worlds that constitute the whole of the world of man, but also of all visible manifestations, are: the physical world, the auric or magical world, the spiritual world and the divine world.
The physical world is the world that we see and perceive with our outer senses. It is linked to the mysteries and the teaching of Archangel Uriel.
The auric or magical world (see “World of water”) is made up of the thoughts, the feelings and the desires that men emit permanently. This auric world is itself linked with a third world, called the “spiritual world”, and animated by it. The auric world is linked to the mysteries and the teaching of Archangel Gabriel.
The spiritual world is made up of the spiritual entities that are at the origin of the thoughts, the feelings and desires of men. It is linked to the mysteries and the teaching of Archangel Raphael.
The divine world is the source and origin of all life and all intelligence. It is the Word of the origins of which Saint John speaks, without which nothing can come to life. It is the sun of all suns living in the infinitely small as in the infinitely great. The divine world is linked to the mysteries and the teaching of Archangel Michael. This world is also made up of 4 kingdoms: the masters, the Angels, the Archangels and the Gods. These 4 kingdoms are the divine and immortal counterpart of the 4 kingdoms of the Mother: the minerals, the plants, the animals and men.
Writing / magical writing / sacred writing
Behind each being stands an intelligence that is the writing of this being, that is, its identity. The Egyptians represented each being in the form of a hieroglyph (a word that means “sacred writing”), for they considered that each of these writings was a letter of the great alphabet of the cosmos, the carrier of an intelligence and a wisdom, but able to be usurped if man no longer consciously honours this sacred writing and does not keep it alive in his thought. One of the major missions of the Essenes is to revivify the sacred writings that are at the origin of all the manifestations of life by redefining, according to the Essene vision, what the tree, the house, man, the family, money, education, peace... really are.
A magical writing is an act, a gesture accomplished, a word spoken with the aim and the will to incarnate and manifest a higher intelligence, a divine wisdom, an eternal teaching. Such a writing also acts at the level of destiny, for it unites the one who performs it with the intelligence hidden behind it, for good as for evil. The Essenes, through everything they undertake, want to set down new writings on earth so that all the spheres of activity of men are once again united with a divine higher intelligence that gives meaning, that ennobles man and opens to him a path towards the Light right into his daily life. To set down writings in one’s life is to consciously set forces in motion to transform one’s destiny by accomplishing works that give a body to the Light.
The word “writing” can also be used in connection with the sacred rituals. For example, to invite and represent the mineral kingdom in a ceremony, the Essenes will set down a stone as a “sacred writing”, as a living language that speaks to several worlds. Through this stone they will invoke the living intelligence and soul of the mineral kingdom, for they know that the stone is living in man and that it has a message, a wisdom to pass on to him, without which he will remain an incomplete being. Through the celebration of the sacred rites, the Essenes want to show all beings and all worlds that they recognize them as so many divine writings that must be honoured and unified to form the great body of the Divinity, the alliance of the worlds, the great universal brotherhood.
Zoroaster (circa 2600 BC)
The whole teaching of Zoroaster was based on the knowledge of the mysteries of the grain of wheat—the fecundating principle of the Father—and of the mysteries of the earth—the creative principle of the Mother. Thus, man learned how to make the seeds of the good life grow in order to create his future himself in the Light. Through nature, he had to understand the mysteries of life and the sacred science that makes it possible to master evil by putting it in the service of good for all. It was the ancient science of magic, the royal way of the ancient Atlantean initiates, which confers on man the knowledge and the mastery of all kinds of influences, negative as well as positive. This is why Zoroaster was called the father of the magi, and why magi came to honour him when he reincarnated as Jesus. In the Essene Nation, the pillar of fire carries the magical staff that is consecrated to this master.
