"The Essene Villages constitute the virgin and sacred land that offers all the best conditions to man and to all the beings of nature so that each one can make appear what he carries inside him that is greatest and most beautiful and can share it with the great universal family."

A short time before the year-end holidays, Olivier, Magali and Michel, a faithful friend, come to set their first steps on this land that belongs to them. Despite the intense cold and the winter that announces itself rigorous, they are happy. The first Essene Village is born and they are decided to spend the Christmas holidays there.

With the acquisition of this land, a new life can begin. The door opens on a flourishing future and the projects are numerous. The domain is an old farmstead comprising a few isolated barns and wooden shacks. Fortunately, the place has been preserved and has conserved its wild side. Everything is to be built, houses, a village, but Olivier knows what he wants, where he is going, and with him will and perseverance are required. He desires above all to renew the sacred alliances that once united man to the forest, to animals, to stones in a living dialogue, in mutual support, revealing the true dignity of man on earth and the grandiose meaning of life, to honour the divine world and to construct temples to put into glory all the intelligence of a superior world.

This new land gives a foundation, a stability to the School. It will be able to reunite those who awaken to their memory of Essenes and set up a structure aiming to promote their teaching throughout the world. The feasts of the cosmic tradition will be able to be celebrated there in a living and sacred manner. These feasts of nature are privileged moments to accomplish a work for humanity in its entirety. Moreover, fraternal congresses and seminars will take place all throughout the year.

Some choose to come live on this elect land, this sacred land. Guilhem Cayzac will be the fourth. His testimony gives an account of the exceptional atmosphere that reigned in this place:

"I arrived on January first, 93. I was immediately impressed by this place. Of a wild beauty, this verdant place but rugged from the arid scenery of the plateau of Larzac offered a harsh winter and we were trembling with cold, but happy with our victory. Olivier had decided to plant a tree on that day to mark this event, on the first day of this year 93.

I was able to inhabit it only from the month of August. I did not know what awaited me up these mountains, cut off from the world. I who aspired to a meditative and interiorized life, I learned with Olivier that we had to be very concrete and I perceived him, alone in the snow, in the process of digging with a pickaxe the foundations of the first house. At the period of Easter, while he was fasting over a period of forty days, he worked hard and was in action much more than us. He represented a mystery to our eyes. We never tired of listening to him, of watching him live, because he was at each instant surprising, unpredictable, astonishing in simplicity and rigour.

During the summer of 93, we asked Olivier to give us lectures every Sunday, and this has now become a custom in our community."

"This domain of Terranova veritably reveals something unique and incredible. Everything is hidden there, but everything is splendid there, magnificently beautiful, and everything goes towards the Father. A mystery dwells there, something precious. Only a being who has been called by the divine world can approach Terranova. It is a door that opens towards a superior world. We must be in great respect and great simplicity."

At this precise moment of his life, at the age of 28, Olivier Martin does not know that from his ambition, his determination and his work other Essene Villages will radiate in the world and that an entire nation will appear, the Essene Nation. He will inhabit this place for fifteen years before flying off to Quebec, where another Essene Village will see the day.
